"The 33rd Annual Austin Custom Car & Hot Rod Show looked like it would never get off the ground. Austin was in the grips of a freak Ice Storm and you had to be pretty dedicated to actually bring your ride out into the storm. Normally, by noon on move in day, the hall is practically full, but this year there were only about 30 cars in the hall!! But as the day wore on, the rides kept trickling in and when it was finally time to open the doors, it was, once again, a great turnout! Over 100 great cars, trucks and motorcycles, with something for everyone. I'm proud to say that the Donut Gang won the "Best Club Display" Award, and we had 21 vehicles there. The South Austin Hot Rod Club, the Hill Country Street Rods, the Classic Chevy Club, The Crossroad Cruisers, and the area Mustang club all contributed to the turnout. And the spectators didn't let the weather keep them inside either."
