Belmont Shore, a sweet little sleepy sea side town near Long Beach comes alive every year as the entire town is taken over with hot rods, classics and the sites and sounds you’ve come to expect with a car show. The show is put on by the Bay Shore Rodders car club and what a terrific job they do! While wandering through the car show the one thing that I came to realize was that I was seeing a lot of cars and related items that I haven’t seen in a long time. When was the last time you’ve seen a 45 rpm record player installed under the dash of a hot rod? And right alongside that was an 8-track tape player! Both were in full working order and the tapes and records were right there to prove it! How about a fully stock ’64 Lincoln convertible or a restored bread delivery truck? How about a fully restored ‘50’s era 4 door Cadillac fully restored in honor of the owners’ parents who bought it for their 50th anniversary? Coincidentally it happened to be the 50th anniversary of Cadillac when it was purchased by the husband as a surprise for his wife. A fully restored Mercury Turnpike Cruiser….wow, what a car. These are just some of the highlights that made this car show so special. Enjoy the pics.
