Golden State Novas (GSN). a local car club, presented the 10th Annual Bowtie Bash at De Anza College on June 9, 2007 in Cupertino, CA, which is about 10 miles North of San Jose. This show is for Chevy’s and GMC’s only.
The show is on campus, which provides a nice setting for the car show. The show featured beautiful California weather, the Scott Garcia Band and some of the nicest Bowties on the road.
We had a 129 Cars/Trucks attending. Awards were presented in the following catagories: Peoples Choice Top 25, Bad to the Bone and Best of Show. The participants are the only people voting, so it has more meaning to the winners when receiving an award.
We had a first this year, with the Best of Show award and Bad to the Bone award being taken by the same car, a 1969 Camaro owned by Steve Broscoe. It is orange and black and hard to miss either by sight or sound! I won won of the People,s Top 25 much to my surprise since my 1966 Nova Wagon (Tangelo Pearl and Ivory Opalescent Pearl) still have a few finishing touches before it is totally completed.
Golden State Novas donates a portion of our income from Bowtie Bash to De Anza’s Automotive Technology Program, which is acknowledged to be one of the best in the country.
