I have read that Drag Races came from Hot Rodding, and I feel that it has goneway beyound what Wally Parks ever thought of.
Sacramento is a old California track that you will not see the top names of the NHRA, but you will see some great races. The track has an elevation of of 78 Ft. and engines and tuners like the air. This was the 38th running of the Governors Cup and they had a good turnout of front Engine Fuelers, Pro Mods, and Alcohol Funny Cars. Now throw in some Jet Dragsters and Ed Jones Wheel standing Fire Truck and you have a show. For more action they had Top Sportsman and some Altereds.
It did rain very lightly for a few minutes, but theday was in the 80’s and went well. I hope you enjoy the pictures I took. Dean Court
