About 40 Hot Rods joined Chainsaw Bob on his "Hi-Way 31" cruise to the recent Australian Street Rod Nationals held at Goulburn at Easter. Almost half the cars were from Tasmania and had to sail across to Victoria on the passenger ship "Spirit of Tasmania" which is an overnight trip but always a lot of fun. The ship boasts 4 bar areas so plenty of socialising takes place and half the fun is in the trip getting there. Next year in 2008 the Regional Nationals will be held in Tasmania so the mainland Rodders will find out what we mean when they have to do the sailing for a change. We gathered just outside Melbourne and with Bob leading the pack we hit the road about 10am. It wasn't a race, so a leisurely cruise to Gundegai for the overnight stop then on to Goulburn the next morning to get to the venue just in time for early registrations. Thanks to Bob for organising the Cruise, we had a ball. It was great to travel to the Nationals with a group and we look forward to doing it again in the future. Regards, Linnie Carew, Tassie Rodder
