"Local hot rodder Jesse Canales suffered a major stroke earlier this year and then found out he was also suffering from diabetes. When the medical bills started piling up, the Austin area car community, from Low Riders to Classics to Hot Rods, all showed their support at a Benefit Car Show in Jesse's honor. Mrs. Beas tavern made their parking lot available for the show and in addition to some fine Bar B Q, there were silent auctions, raffles, and live music.

It was good to see the local gearheads show that they have a heart by helping out a fellow rodder in need, and get to enjoy a great get-together at the same time. Jesse and his brother Chris have both been involved with the Hot Rodding scene in the Austin area for many years, and it's obvious they have made many friends."
