Liberty Street Rods 17th Annual Rod Run Winfield, Maryland June 25, 2006 Text and Pictures from Ken Trump
The Liberty Street Rods hosted their 17th Annual Rod Run on Sunday, June 25, 2006. The event was held at the Winfield Fire Company Carnival Grounds in Carroll County, Winfield, Maryland with a showing of street rods, classics, customs, and antiques.
The entire field of show cars received club sponsored goodie bags with an assortment of items. Other events throughout the day included flea market vendors, door prizes, 50-50 raffle, and games for the entire family. The Liberty Ladies contributed to the day’s festivities with a Chinese Auction and drawings for spectacular theme baskets including “A Day at the Beach”, “Ladies - Pamper Yourself”, “ NASCAR”, and the “Fourth of July”.
As the show drew to a close and the awards presentations began, the Club presented 42 plaques sponsored by local businesses. Each year the club donates the proceeds to various organizations and individuals within the community. This year, charitable contributions were provided to the Winfield Fire Department in recognition of their dedicated service to the community and scholarship funds for two deserving individuals in attendance at the local Carroll County Vocational Technical Center. The Liberty Street Rods Annual Rod Run is one way the Club displays its commitment and service to the community.
Every year, the Liberty Street Rods Annual Rod Run proves to be an entertaining event for the entire family. The Club members look forward to meeting the car enthusiasts and their families who attend the show. The Club Officers would like to take this opportunity to thank the Winfield Fire Department for providing the site, the Club members for their dedicated service, the Liberty Street Rod Ladies for all their hard work and dedication, and the car enthusiasts and spectators who participate and make our event a success.
