On the LA Fairgrounds but not a direct part of the Grand National Roadster Show is a separate building devoted to the Wally Parks NHRA Museum of Motor Sports. To me it is the history of drag racing and the NHRA’s involvement to bring safety to a sport that started out as dangerous street racing in the late 1940’s. The displays of racing memorabilia from the dry lakes, salt flats, and early drag racing events are worth the admission alone. Throw in some of the cars that made that history and you are in early drag racing heaven, or at least I was.
