Hi, Sam Flowers and several of the Ventura Highwaymen members, longing for a car fix, ventured to the L.A. County Fairgrounds for the Grand National Roadster Show on Friday Jan. 25th. It had been raining in the area for a few days and we were concerned, but Mother Nature cooperated with very few sprinkles. The GNRS started in 1950 and is the longest continuing indoor car show in the world. People from as far away as Germany, Japan and Australia were observed as well as notables of the car world like Alex Xydiaz, Blackie Gejeian, George and Sam Barris, Bill Hines and Jack and Maryann of Hot Rod Hot Line. Over 600 cars and 100 motorcycles were present including top Customs and Street Rods to primered traditional rods. Vendors and rod builders had their exhibits making this a great show to attend.
