"The annual Bastrop Veterans Weekend Car Show is part of how Bastrop, Texas say's "Thank you" to the military veterans of the area. The car show itself is handled by the Bastrop Area Cruisers, and it just keeps on growing!
This year, with over 350 cars and some being turned away because of no more space, the big talk of the weekend concerned finding a way to share more of the historic downtown Bastrop area with the many vendors, without either the car show or the merchants having to lose any territory. Everyone is hoping that the City of Bastrop, the Downtown Merchants and the Bastrop Area Cruisers can work out some kind of arrangement that will let this premier car show continue to grow and attract even more of the Central Texas fine rides.
The day started out with a dense fog, but it cleared up by show time and the fog didn't seem to deter anyone from coming out. There were drawings for door prizes all day long and a showing of the military color guard that brought things to halt while everyone saluted the flag in their own way,
