The grand opening of the Medina Township Sports Complex at Blakslee Park in Medina, Ohio this past Sunday June 7th included a car show, local vendor displays, a petting zoo, a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly constructed township facilities, ball diamonds & soccer fields, a dedication to the Blakslee family who formerly owned the 28 acres, a visit by the Life Flight helicopter, all day long free hot dogs, sliders, cotton candy, and snow cones provided by Golden Corral, numerous door prizes, and the very best music by Frank & Cookie LaManna of FLP Presents.
Dick Goddard, Cleveland's Fox 8 News weatherman joined in the festivities and also sang the National Anthem during the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony.
Here's hoping this one becomes an annual event! --Fitz, Wooster, OH
