Bill & Lindee’s 1936 Ford

Saturday we attended this event and it was a total flashback in time for both of us. Bill and I dated in the late 60's and this was our favorite hangout. We cruised up and down the pit area for endless hours in Bill's 55 Nomad complete with the Wonderbar Radio listening to everything from the Beatles to Janis Joplin. I even surprised him for Christmas with an 8 track tape player! At that time it was real, now it's Nostalgia. The guys who thrilled us then, Jerry Ruth, Herm Peterson, Jim Green, Jerry King and a host of others are

still at it showing off their fuelies. Boy I love the smell of Nitro in the morning. The Tower was even equipped with ear plugs for sale, but since we are all hard of hearing anyway we saved the 75 cents, which in this economy, is significant. Hope you enjoy the pictures and remember what the smell of smoking tires was like. Lindee
