Nobody seems to be keeping track of how many “Hot Pedro Nites” have preceded this one, but the general

thought is this is the 4th. Pacific Ave inhistoric downtown San Pedro, CA. between 6th St. and 17th St. is blocked off. The cruising of pre-’71 cars begins at 6:00pm and ends at 9:00pm. The spectators start putting out their chairs about 5:00 in order to get a good spot. The historic architecture of the buildings added an interesting backdrop for the cars.

The evening temperatures were comfortably in the high 60’s. Through the course of the event half a dozen bands played on at least 3 stages, the live music could be heard up and down Pacific Ave. Some of the bands were “Time Machine”, “Rip Tide’s”, “110 South”, “Titanic”, “Seat Belt Pecking Order”. The spectators waved as over 250 cars drove by. Many different vehicles were represented including, classics, stock, street rods, traditional rods, pickups, low riders, customs and European cars.

For 2009, the event will benefit “Clean San Pedro”. This grassroots organization has kept the city beautiful by organizing numerous volunteers to sweep trash, clean graffiti, remove debris, and steam clean public areas. Hot Pedro Nites is a great classic car cruise. After the show, check out some of the good restaurants San Pedro has to offer.

Thanks for the Show!!
