April 30, 2009 Nostalgia Funny Car Fever came to Sacramento Saturday. Jack Beckman, who had the weekend off from NHRA, came to drive the Lee Jennings Camaro funny car. April 21, 2009 Debbie Baker has been the driving force behind Cruisin For A Cure, the country’s largest one day car show/cruise, whose income all goes toward finding a cure for prostate cancer. She formed this effort when her husband, Jim, was diagnosed with this dreaded disease some 10 years or so ago. Sadly, the cancer took Jim recently. April 15, 2009 Went to New Zealand in late February and early March for a couple of car shows and one was in Dunedin which is on the South island. There was about 500 cars and the weather was excellent which the locals said was pretty rare. Had a great day and Dunedin is a beautiful city and well worth the trip. April 9, 2009 The Portland Swap Meet is one of our favorite swap meets.... it’s just HUGE ...about 4500 spaces at the expo center and about 1 mile away at Portland International Raceway there’s an “overflow” swap meet with hundreds more spaces. March 18, 2009 The 2009 Gear Grinders Awards Banquet was held on February 28, 2009 in the parking lot behind the hot rod shops of Steve Davis and Fiddy Alvarez, in Huntington Beach, California. Jan. 26, 2009 It is Winter and car shows are scarce even in sunny So. Cal.. Fortunately the Grand National Roadster Show comes along towards the end of January.
