On Monday, June 21st I went to the Connecticut Dragway Reunion hosted by the Connecticut Street Rod Association at the Mountain Ridge Resort in Wallingford, Connecticut; I rode shotgun in my Buddy Carl Libucha's "Timeless-T". The once a year event was graced with perfect weather after 2 years of NOT very good weather. Over 550 cars were on display showing their stuff along with memorabilia from Connecticut Dragway and early Connecticut car shows hosted by Frank Maratta and Joe Kizis. At 7:00 P.M. the "CACKLEFEST" took place with the race cars firing up for everyone's pleasure.
While at the event I met another HOTRODHOTLINE photographer, Bob Warenda; Sure would like a camera like his, better yet a '34 pickup like his - Absolutely beautiful little truck - Maybe next time I'll get a ride around the block in it. Nice to see a young guy like Bob taking the time to share pictures with OLD geezers like me.
Lots of beautiful and rare cars including a 3-wheeled Davis powered by a ford flathead. a Kaiser Darien, and an absolutely gorgeous '54 Chevy to mention a few.
My pictures are late due to a family vacation with NO Computer, and although Bob and others have already covered the event I hope you enjoy my pictures too!!!
