This past Saturday I made a trip from the LA area up to San Jose. It took 5 hours to get there and it was worth every minute. The thing about an event like this is that there are no attitudes. The playing field is even, friendships are reunited and some new ones made. Just car guys and gals enjoying the day.

Eric Gambino is a familiar face at many events I attend. He seems very respected as was proof from the quality of people that attended his event.

Bart Mitchell and Jack Lawford

Who? John D'Agustino (high end car builder), James Hetfield (singer for Metallica), Mitzi of MitziandCo. (top industry photographer), Kirk Taylor (Custom Design Studios), and many more, some that I wouldn't know or recognize. So, there was big names, no names, and up and coming names. But, Eric Gambino was the name why everyone showed.

The weather was great. There was free food. Everyone shared beverages. They had art work for sale. Pinstripes working on items. And, what was interesting is Eric had 2 other builders from other local shops displaying there latest works in progress. One was Notch's from Top Notch Kustoms 35 Ford rat rod that has recently been on the cover of Rodders Journal. And, the second one was Skoty Chops Kustoms 30's era Plymouth that he is custom rebuilding correctly to compete in the Grand National Roadster show. There was a handful of Gambino's Customs projects on display in various stages of completion. And, to me it was obvious by the end of the day why Eric Gambino is a well liked and respected person in the industry.

So, next year put this event on your calendar as one not to miss.
