My Wife and I took a train trip to visit her Brother(Art) and Sister-in-Law (Dorothy) in Shawnee, Kansas for a couple of weeks; Because of my superior planning our trip included the weekend that the GoodGuys' Mid-West Nationals was taking place at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. I tried clicking my sneakers together to get to the Land of Dorothy quickly, but it didn't work. As my Wife has MS and can't fly, and my vehicles have extremely high miles we took Amtrak. The train ride was VERY long. A couple of days into our stay I met one of the neighbors named Jerry McPherson; The first several pictures are of his beautiful '33 Vicky; I told him I'd be taking pictures at the GoodGuys' Show and I'd include the pictures of his sedan; He then surpised me and told me that he bought the car in Seattle a couple of years ago from an ad in, you guessed it, HOTRODHOTLINE; Small world!!! Loved watching the Hummingbirds out there, going to the Sonic Drive-In a couple of times, having real Kansas City Bar-B-Q, playing cards and visiting. I met a few of their neighbors that they haven't met yet - pretty good for a shy guy like me, Huh???

I dragged Art (didn't have to try very hard) to the show on Saturday, Sept.4th. What a facility; Absolutely Fantastic, and the weather was perfect. Being from Massachusetts it was great for me as I only saw one vehicle that I've seen before in person, as well as several cars that I've seen in the magazines. The highest entry number that we happened to see was 1799, but with the cars moving around during the day it actually could have been much higher. Lots and lots of Fantastic cars.

Hopefully I'll get to out there again someday, but for now I'm clicking my heels together to get back to Massachusetts and it's NOT working; Guess we'll get back on Amtrak for another long ride Home! Hope you all enjoy my pictures.  Walt
