Hi all, hope you are all well over there as I am well and enjoying getting around to the rod runs this year with a rod. Anyway, this past weekend I headed up to the Grampians National Park where the Old Skool Hotrod and Custom Club held their 4th annual run at Halls Gap.
The weather was warm, in the 30's (Celsius) and saw registrations at the caravan park with a welcome bbq and band on Friday night.
Saturday morning there was a breakfast at the northern end of the caravan park for entrants followed by a cruise over the mountain down past Silverband Falls coming out at Lake Bellfield before cruising back through Halls Gap and out to Barny's Ruble where a roast dinner was served. Then the afternoon was free for entrants to do what ever and on Saturday night there was a Drive-in (sit down in the park) with the park in the center of Halls Gap on a nice warm evening to watch "Smokey and the bandit".
Sunday saw breakfast served again and then the northern end of the caravan park started to fill for the Show and Shine at 10pm. Presentations were held at 1:30 pm and then another Grampians Rod Run was over.
This year they changed the name for the first time to the "Old Skool Roundup" and this is what the run will be called at future runs. Entry was double from last year which just goes to show what a bit of word and mouth does for a run. I will be back next year for sure. Cheers and hope you enjoy the pics.
