After a brisk early morning, the day was a little more comfortable. The number of cars that showed up was in the 800’s. By 11:00 the spectators had swelled to well over 10,000! For many years this

was been THE most popular Christmas show for hot rodders in So Cal. Cars came from as far away as Oregon, Arizona, & Colorado. Every type of classic vehicle was represented including, landspeed cars, drag racers, dirt track racers, custom cars, street rods, custom pickups, exoctics, and vintage trailers. Some of the notable people on-hand were John Force, Ashley Force Hood, Brittany, Courtney, 2009 Funny Car Champ Robert Hight, Funny Car pilot “Fast” Jack Beckman, Megan Jo & Tom McKernan, Genevieve Chappell, Randy Haapala, Matt & Cole Tachdjian, Top Fuel Dragster driver Cory McClenathan and Tom McEwen, to name just a few. The “Hot Rod Trio” played great rockabilly all day.

As the Show draws to a close, we marvel at all the toys donated to the CHP “ChiPs for Kids” toy drive. The “Kenny Duncan award” is presented, at this show, to an individual or group that goes beyond the car show world to help in a charitable way. This years recipient, Dave Lindsay and his SoCalCarCulture.com website, has helped promote car shows that raise thousands of dollars for charitable causes. The 50+ award winning cars were announced in front of the spectators, and everyone was on the way home by 4:00.
