Despite the threat of Hurricane Earl paying a visit on Friday (which, fortunately did not happen), the weather was great all weekend. A record for number of show cars, spectator attendance and money collected for the Make-A-Wish foundation (Over $13,000 was won on the 50-50 drawing) were set.
I saw Big Al riding on cars, not in them, doing his best impression of a hood ornament.
It was a great show with lots of 50’s Doo Wop being played by Wolfman Jerry and the Gup. Sock Hops, a prom, karaoke, acapella groups, shows with big name groups from the 50’s, and lots of vendors were all a part of it. The show gets bigger each year and will probably continue to do so. Mark your calendar for next year and I’ll see you there. Enjoy the pictures.
