Roger

  Over 500 race vehicles represented the best of 16 classes and competed at the 46th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals and the conclusion of the Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Countdown, in Pomona, CA. They came from 7 geographical Divisions around the United States. 3 cars in the Top Fuel class came from Europe! The weather was perfect, sunny and warm with temperatures in the high 70’s. “Nitro Alley” was packed with rows and rows of vendors showing their wares, rows and rows of food stands and a vintage corral full of 50 restored historic front engined dragsters and beautiful funny cars. The NHRA Museum was free to all race fans. As though that wasn’t enough to satisfy your “Gearhead” needs, the pits had hundreds of amazing racecars to check out. You can get the autograph of your favorite driver.

The winners of this 46th Annual Auto Club NHRA Finals were:

*Top Fuel – Antron Brown, 3.84 et & 311.99mph defeated Shawn Langdon’s, 4.185et & 306.46mph.

*Funny Car – John Force, 4.08et & 310.41mph beat Jeff Arend’s, 4.109et & 307.65mph.

Pro Stock – Shane Gray, 6.566 & 209.20mph defeated Jeg Coughlin’s, 6.568et & 210.18mph.

Pro Motorcycle – Eddie Krawiec, 6.811et & 196.90mph beat Hector Arana’s, Foul.

Top Alcohol Dragster – Michael Manners, 5.34et & 270.64mph beats, Shawn Cowie’s, 5.333et & 263.0mph.

Top Alcohol Funny Car – Mickey Ferro, 5.522et & 257.58mph defeated Mark Woznichak’s 6.055et & 171.05mph.

Comp Eliminator – Dan Fletcher, 7.713et & 171.08mph beat Vinny Barone’s 7.72et & 171.69mph.

Super Gas – Randy Balough, 9.937et defeated C. Newman’s, 9.88et.

Super Comp – M. Constant, 8.921et, defeated B. Hiatt who Fouled.

Super Stock – B. Brown, 11.38et defeated J. Lang’s, 10.72et.

Stock Eliminator – J.Lang, 12.30et defeated D.Glenn’s, 10.63et.

*Top Fuel & Funny Car are winners of a 1000 foot race, not a quarter mile.
Larry Dixon and John Force join Tony Schumacher and Robert Hight as the only NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing series champions at the current 1000 foot distance.

61 year old John Force took both the Funny Car 2010 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series championship as well the 46th Annual Auto Club NHRA Finals.
