American Classic Cars & Cal-Rods team up to celebrate,
Collector Car Appreciation Day
Pomona, CA.
7-8-11
Story & Photos by: Roger Rohrdanz

The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) and its Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) and Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) Councils announced July 8, 2011 as “Collector Car Appreciation Day.” The date marks the second commemoration in what will become an annual event to raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society.  SEMA’s commitment to preserving and promoting the automotive restoration industry through its projects and programs is evident in this event.

On July 8, 2011, American Classic Cars and the Cal-Rods car club joined to celebrate this special day at American Classic Cars garage in Pomona, CA.  The day was hot, but this event was held in the afternoon/evening to avoid some of the heat.  Also on-hand were “The San Dimas HEROES”.  They are accepting donations to construct a permanent memorial to honor all our current military personnel.  For more information contact: [email protected].  The hot rods began to arrive about 4:00.  The DJ & barbeque fired up about 4:30.  By 5:30 the 150+ hot rods had arrived, food & drinks were being consumed.  A little later “The San Dimas HEROES” started drawing raffle numbers.

Thanks for the Show!
