Performance World Custom Car & Truck Show Ontario, Toronto, Canada March 11-13, 2011 Photos and Text by Mike Lynch
These are pictures from Performance World show in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Some of the competitors from the Chicago show and the Detroit show made their way north of the border to show off their handiwork. The fabulous '60 green and white Ford coupe and that incredibal '55 - '56 Chrysler coupe. Throw in some antique gassers from south of the border Niagara Falls, NY area, the famous JIMMY ODDY and friends. He brought his '33 Willys, but was probably more famous in the day for his Austin AA/GS which is the one I remember seeing. The front building houses the main feature cars with quality displays shooting for the $5000.00 Grand Champion first time shown award. Truckerama also brought out a lot of trucks again this year. The show also had the SUEDE NATIONALS featuring primered cars mostly of the RATTUS RODDUS variety. Returning again this year was the 4th Annual BRUSH RUSH NORTH pin striping in action display by many talented proponents of the art. As usual all around the outside walls, every inch of commercial space was packed with somebody selling or promoting their products. Mothers and Meguirs waxes were there in force promoting their latest products with some free samples. As I rounded the exit corner out of the main building I was drawn to the left by a hypnotic smell which had me by the nose and would not let go. At the end of that odorific delight was the food court, new this year. Featuring a pizza booth, Nathan's hot dogs booth and chinese asian food. I grabbed the entrance stanchions and valiantly fought off the urge to gorge myself and continued in my quest to get pictures of everything worth photographing. Another sucessful visit to this show. Unfortunately the Motion Toronto show is gone and no longer, so this will be the only show getting covered.
