again by purchasing everything that is offered. The Shifters and their wives and friends cook all day to raise more for the fund. Also, sending out a group of members to bring together a 50/50. That sends a person home with a nice bank roll and also increases the fund again. A group of non members and I believe a few members spend many hours in the sea of nearly 400 cars judging to give out a 100 plus trophy's of a high quality to the cars of choice. With a selection to please all, Best 30 cars 72 & older, Best 20 cars 73 & newer cars, Best 10 Trucks 72 & older, Best 5 Trucks 73 & newer, 1st & 2nd FOMCO, 1st & 2nd GM, 1st & 2nd MOPAR, 1st & 2nd Orphan, Best Foreign, 1st & 2nd Best Paint, 1st & 2nd Best Interior, 1st & 2nd Best Engine, Downshifters Choice , Veterans Choice, Best Custom, Best of Show Car. They cover it all and fairly on time well, maybe a little late, not to unusual for a car show. THE BEST PART is the one day total of fund raising at the end of the show day and not all counted was over $18,000.00 and will probably go to $20,000.00. All of this money stays at Bay Pines in the Recreation Room to benefit the rec room. The time that goes into this show by the host club is staggering and the good is not measurable but is seen by many and felt by the VETS that receive it, need I say more.
Thanks to the Downshifters of Brooklyn for the show and the day in the sun (not rain "YES") Jay
