The Calhoun County Fair Grounds is celebrating it's 163 rd year of operation and is the home to the Cruise to the Fountain Car Show held on the July 4th weekend for the last 10 years. The grounds are beautiful and the very old oak trees provide for both shade and a cool setting despite the actual temperature. That was, except for this year! As the temps pushed the 100 degree mark everyone eventually suffered. Along with the trees, indoor venders, the outdoor food venders could barely provide enough cool beverages. The food venders did provide their usual selection of great food. I want to compliment the Tri-Five Ford Club who regularly comes in from Ontario, Canada to show off some of the finest Ford's, from that period, that I have ever seen! On an other note, I would personally like to express my pure disgust to the group joy riding in the 1955 Chevy named "Roger J". They thought it was just great to dive along the busy service road doing burn outs. This service drive is the main walk way/drive way for show attendees and their children. Along with the need to do this in a safer place, they need posi-traction, as their one tire burnouts sucked! Enjoy the pics!
