When hot rodding buddy Don McKinnon ask if I wanted to join him at this years annual Fathers Day event at the lake front estate of Edsel Ford it took me about one second to say yes. When I found out that we would be involved in bringing five cars there from the Bob Machacek collection I was like a little kid, and that was before learning which cars. They were a 1959 Chevy, 1951 Frazer Manhattan, 1954 Packard, and a 1960 Lincoln – all convertibles! And, of the cars we brought, the 1959 Chevy was so popular that a local news crew filmed in it for their news coverage and the Kaiser Manhattan is one of only eight known to exist!
Eyes On Design is a concourse style event that celebrates the exterior beauty and shape of the vehicles and is not limited to just cars. Thus, this years invited cars were surrounded by motorcycles and antique farm tractors, and all on the very spacious grounds of the estate. Enjoy the pics! Thanks, Bob
