The weather forecast for Columbus Day weekend was perfect, so I got my yard work done on Friday to free up Saturday morning and afternoon. I had never been to the Hot Rod and Kustom Fall Out before, and with summer-like weather in October I didn’t want to miss it this year. As I was headed toward Interstate 91 a flathead-powered ’29 Ford fenderless roadster and a ’38 Chevy coupe crossed an intersection in front of me, headed East towards CT Route 66, a secondary highway. I decided to fall in behind them and enjoy the leisurely trip to South Glastonbury at 40 mph. The show was in full swing by the time we arrived, and I was a bit surprised by the number of cars already there, the size of the swap meet, and the number of vendor booths. This was a great show, and you could easily spend the entire day here looking at all varieties of 1963 and earlier cars, listening to the bands, and poking around in the swap meet.
