This past weekend was the 53rd annual "March Meet" at the famous Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California. There was a big crowd on hand despite threat of wind, rain and cool temperatures.
There were some famous folks in the house too, like; Grand Marshall, Shirley Muldowney, the beautiful Miss Hurst Shifter, Linda Vaughn, and driver of John Force Racing's, Auto Club sponsored top fuel funny car, Robert Hight, all signing autographs and visiting with the fans. There were some notable stars from the NHRA in attendance who were racing like, Roland Leong, Ron Capps driving for Del Worsham's owned nostalgia funny car, "The Blue Max", Gary Densham, "Fast" Jack Beckman and Tony Bartone.
For the price of admission you get a great car show. A huge swap meet with just about every thing and part imaginable, and a whole lot of race cars and racing to tickle your fancy. There is truly something for everyone here. Enjoy the pictures!
