The Temecula Rod Run is hosted in “Old Town” Temecula, California twice each year; this year I attended the Spring Rod Run on March 11-12, 2011. The City of Temecula locks down Old Town from Arch to Arch to allow pre-1970 classic beauties to “run wild”, including a Friday night cruise down the main street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday was a static Show & Shine and there were even more cars participating than on Friday. With a large public attendance, many vendors, the town as a background and wonderful weather this show was a definite hit.
On a personal note, I visited with my prior hot rod (1931 Model A) and Robert, the current owner. It was great to see my former car and discuss with Robert the changes he’s made and what plans he has for it in the future. We’ll meet again next year when I attend the 2012 Temecula Rod Run.
