We hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Safe Celebration of the New Year. In this segment of our '32 Build up we'll box the frame rails. This process is aligning plates to the outside edges of the frame rails. I drew a diagram illustrating the proper fitting of a boxing plate to the outside of the frame rail. The boxing plates from Dearborn Mfg. has the rear C that lines up to the frame rails. I cut the boxing plates in two pieces for easier installation.

Once we have the two separate boxing plate pieces, align them along the frame rails edges. Clamp in place and check front to rear, the alignment again. When you have the pieces clamped in place, weld the butted meeting edges of the two boxing plates. Turn the piece over and weld the back side. Grind the weld if needed so the boxing plate will lay flat against the rail edges.
