At last, the grille shell with the Ron Davis radiator (black anodized) and fan shroud (painted to match) are mounted along with the Spal fan (painted to match) and Spal fan sender controlled 185F on, and 165F off. The Billet Specialties overflow fit perfectly off to the side and is mounted to the shroud. Race Car Dynamics (www.rcdclassics.com) makes a custom shock rod cover for the Bilstein shocks, and comes with a great chrome finish. Best to send your shocks to RCD and have them install the cover. The top shock loop is installed really tight, so you don’t want to do any clamping on the shock rod to get it off. A mark on the polished shock rod will wear out the seal real quick.

Check out the custom shock/headlight mount I fabricated from ” 17.4 stainless steel, and polished by The Polishing Shop. Headwinds headlight buckets with 50/100W halogen bulbs lights the way. LED blinkers are in the lower half of the lamps.

Wilwood polished calipers are used up front, and will be clamping on Wilwood drilled and slotted black coated discs. Notice the spring/shock mount. I made the same setup for my roadster in 1953 – it worked great, so I used it again. I want the front of the Coupe to look as much like my first roadster up front as possible with that period look. The 350 Chevy ZZ4 engine with the headers, three carbs, Joe Hunt ignition and flat firewall all match my roadster.

The grille is sectioned one inch and uses a polished Dan Fink Metalworks stainless steel grille insert.

Next and last photos will be of the overall finished Coupe. See you at some of my local cruise nights and shows.
