The October Swap Meet at the Portland Expo Center is put on by The North West
Collector Car Club.  They're a great bunch of people and we have some of their cars
to show you.  Many of these club members have owned their cars for a very long time.

Can you believe a Guy would be so lucky to own TWO '38 Ford Woodies ? These belong to Jack Hogan of Portland.  When I first saw them, it looked like one car with a huge mirror behind it!

Now These are FINS !
This car is just too cool
and beautifully detailed
to boot.  It's a '59 DeSoto
and belongs to Tom Fox of
Aloha, Oregon.

While we're looking at the
DeSotos we can't pass up
this beauty.  It's a '56
Convertible and was a pace car in Indy on May 30, 1956.  It belongs to Walt
and Alice Ericksen of Milwaukie, Oregon.

Another exceptional
car is this '47 Ford Coupe owned by Harlyn and Ginnie Pietilla of Vancouver, Washington.

This picture doesn't do
this '50 Merc justice.
The lighting was not very
good so you can't really
appreciate the car fully.
Dave and Sunny Graham of Milwaukee, Oregon own
this great car.

Outside we found all kinds
of cars and other good stuff for sale.  This '51
Hudson Convertible is a car
you don't see too often.

And How About This ~  What a Beauty !

We have to watch Jack..
I think he wants every
car he sees !  He's been
talking a lot  about Falcon Sprints lately.

NICE  TRUCK !

Just Think. if you bought this and spent thirty thousand dollars and forty seven years working on it ~ you too could have a truck worth $20,000.  But WHAT FUN !

And there's enough here for
you and your buddy both !

There's a policy at this swap meet that the vendors
have to leave their stuff covered up on move-in day.
No selling or uncovering until it's open to the public.  Bummer !   I caught Jack
trying to sneak a peek.  I think he's seriously addicted
to Rust !

Now Jack is trying to
get his friend DeWain in trouble ~  This is just what he needs, another project !

Now I know you haven't seen one of these. It's a '36 Chevy Wayne Bus. It's 16 feet long, came from Vancouver Washington and it sold for a mere $1900 ~ and Dewains wife is so happy
that He Didn't buy it !

Look at all this GOOD  STUFF !

Well . Sunday we headed
home ~ unbelievably ~ empty
handed.  We did see a lot of friends we haven't seen in a while and met some new ones.  As usual, our booth inside was hopping with rodders on the internet and loving it. I don't think the web will replace swap meets though until we can somehow provide that  smell of rust !
