1954 CHEVROLET BEL AIR SPORT COUPE
ENGINE: Langdon Stovebolt 261/GM Pontiac/Truck perfectly built by McBetts Racing to 292 ci, Six, mild Cam/bore .125 over – built with stainless steel valves – Chevrolet 283 Pistons – Hitachi Diesel heavy duty connecting rods. Engine is paint-matched to the original Horizon Blue car body. Dual Carter-Weber 2-bbl carbs with Chrome breather covers, original Fenton intake powder coated blue. Delta-Pag dual magnetic fan cooling system with engine bay thermostat control panel – New brass radiator – New Thickstun full-finned Valve cover – Newport electric wipers – Engine bay is fully detailed and polished and has polished copper tubing feeds for intake heating system and vacuum lines. Engine Bay Fuel and Temperature gauges. All new Ron Francis – 12 volt – electrical wiring system complete throughout. Mallory HEI Distributor. Custom Moon remote oil filter housing is mounted on the engine firewall. Power Master Chrome Alternator.
CHASSIS: Chassis Engineering IFS/disc front brakes – 5-Speed T-5 Borg-Warner ‘World-Class’ Manual transmission professionally rebuilt. Hurst floor shifter. 3:42 Posi GMC Rear – New Chassis Engineering rear leaf spring suspension kit with 2 inch lowering blocks. All new stainless steel gas lines and new gas tank. Stainless Specialties dual mufflers to original Fenton split exhaust heat-wrapped manifolds. Chrome exhaust dual tips extend from rear bumper. Wheel Vintiques Chrome-reverse steel wheels with body matching painted centers. 2.5-inch WW Michelin Radials with beauty ring. Stainless “bow-tie” small police caps.
BODY: 2-tone paint, original 1954 GM colors, Horizon Blue with India Ivory top with clear coat by Carlisle Customs – Rare 1954 Pontiac Shark-fin with Star Chief Stainless Quarter trim. Custom extended rear fender skirts with bottoms flared – shaved/remote door handles and shaved trunk. Grill has Nine – 1953 Chevy grill teeth on ’54 grill bar. Beautiful original NOS rear bumper-end chrome Glamour Guards. Custom tail light LED conversions with under bumper LED stop light bar. All original and new clear glass throughout. Vent window chrome perfect. ’58 Impala side view mirrors. All body chrome and stainless in show quality condition. Roof is fitted with a period-correct outside sun visor. Body and interior pinstriping done by “Palm-Coast Eddie”. Original rust-free Texas car – all sheet metal laser straight and solid throughout. Electric antenna recessed in passenger front fender. Trunk is finished in custom Daytona blue carpet to match cabin floor and features custom blue large Bel-Air script insignia. There is an LED custom interior lighting system and switch neatly mounted to the inside, upper trunk edge. New rubber factory floor mats cover rust free-freshly painted trunk floor. Chrome custom mounted fire extinguisher in trunk. Original bumper jack in perfect polished/painted condition. Trunk features a manual cable release hidden inside gas tank door – there is also a back-up manual cable release for the driver door hidden inside the upper rear of the driver fender. Both upper door “flipper” window guards have been completely rebuilt polished and restored to show quality and functionality.
INTERIOR: Cream Leather and Blue-suede interior custom-sewn to match original Bel Air patterns – blue suede and chrome headliner. All Interior chrome show quality with door sills show chromed. Cut and sewn new Daytona blue carpets. Classic Instruments re-build of original dash cluster/12-volt system with complete Ron Francis wiring kit. Custom Autosound 4-speaker sound system – all dash chrome in show quality – 2-tone custom steering wheel on painted Flaming River tilt column. Moon tach – Stewart Warner “wings” 4-gauge panel under dash. Interior is itself a rare and beautiful work of art. Interior dash features a rare and unique chrome star electric cut-off master switch. De-Luxe OEM heater and vent system completely restored to show quality paint and detail. New floor to firewall heat and insulation pad.
