Description:
INTRODUCTION: Starting with an amazingly clean car, meticulous craftsmen transformed it into what you see today. The end result is outstanding fit and finish paired with incredible performance. From the precision bodywork to the high quality components throughout, this is the kind of build that stands out to people who truly know and appreciate great cars. Sold new in Phoenix, it's a rust free car that was a one owner till at least 1987, has registrations and service records to prove it.
EXTERIOR: The fit and finish on this car is outstanding! This is the kind of build a truly knowledgeable body man would stop and appreciate. Starting with an Arizona rust free, all original sheet metal body, with the exception of the new GM Goodmark cowl hood, every panel is laser straight from the rockers to the roof. The gaps are precise, and the doors shut with the feel of a new car. It received a high quality professional paint job where the car was properly disassembled and prepped before being coated in a stunning glass red finish, including the jambs. Many of the trim pieces are NOS, and the bumpers are the original units that were bead blasted and rechromed-not cheap aftermarket replacements. The weatherstrips have been replaced, the glass is tinted, and it's sitting tough on Weld Ultra-lite 15-inch aluminum wheels, extra wide in back and wrapped in Mickey Thompson street slicks.
INTERIOR: From floor to ceiling, the interior is mint. Down on the floor, it has fresh carpet and a complete set of seatbelts. The seats have been recushioned and reupholstered, and the door panels were replaced. Overhead, the headliner and visors are fresh as well. The mirror, window cranks, glovebox liner and seat moldings are all in excellent shape. The dash was professionally restored by Just Dashes, and the instrument panel, knobs, steering wheel, and heater control panel all look mint too. The performance side of the interior includes a B&M ratchet shifter on the floor, a column mounted tachometer with shift light, and a gauge cluster under the dash to keep an eye on the engine's vitals.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This just got serious! Under the hood is a Bill Mitchell World Products Merlin 540 pumping out an incredible 600 horsepower and 605 lbs. of torque. It's loaded with top shelf components including Merlin aluminum heads and high rise intake, Scorpion roller rockers, a big dual feed carb, MSD ignition, and ceramic coated Hooker headers. The fuel system was done right with premium lines, fittings, regulator, and filter. Up front, the motor is dressed with a serpentine belt system featuring billet pulleys and brackets along with a polished alternator and power steering. It also features a catch can system. It runs cool with an aluminum water pump, Be Cool aluminum radiator, dual electric fans, and a polished overflow bottle. It also features Hydryoboost power brakes with a polished master cylinder. All the metal surfaces are painted smooth, the hardware looks fresh. This thing is an absolute beast, but it was also meticulously assembled and beautifully presented.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and in the jamb is painted just as slick and glossy as the exterior of the car. Inside, the original metal is clean and solid with a neatly applied spatter finish. The weatherstrip and latch have been replaced, and it still has what may be its original trunk mat in place.
UNDERSIDE: It was body off the frame restored! The frame and chassis components were powder coated for a smooth, durable finish, and the entire front steering and suspension system has been completely rebuilt. In back, it's upgraded with adjustable upper control arms, boxed lower arms, a sway bar, and air bags in the springs. The custom 3-inch stainless exhaust features an X-pipe, Flowmaster mufflers, and TIG-welded construction. The brake system has been completely rebuilt with front disc brakes, replaced lines, and a fresh e-brake assembly. The fuel system was also replaced and upgraded with a custom sump pickup in the tank. Looking up at the motor, everything appears fresh, including an extra capacity oil pan and high torque starter. It's backed by a Turbo 400 automatic with a shift kit and stall converter, plus a finned aluminum transmission pan. A heavy duty 4-inch aluminum driveshaft with a safety loop leads back to a Moser 12-bolt rear featuring 3.73 Tru Trak posi gears, 33-spline axles, C-clip eliminators, and an aluminum girdle cover. The original floors are still in place and retain their factory undercoating.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell.
CONCLUSION: This isn't just another red Chevelle, it is exceptional! The truly knowledgeable car people will appreciate this one the most because it's done right. The more you look at it, the more impressive it becomes. Do yourself a favor and make it your own!
