This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Restomod is a fresh build that gives you a clean and classic muscle car look inside and out. But when you look under the hood, you see that there is a 555 cubic-inch big block that gives you superior power. And with fuel injection, an upgraded suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and the control of a five-speed, you can start to see how this is a thoughtful total package that wants you to fully harness all that extra power.
The '70 Chevelle is one of the largest icons of the muscle car era, and so you like it when someone takes the time to get it right. With less than 75 miles on this hardtop since the completed restoration, it has not seen a lot of public road time. This has the right pieces you want, like an SS-style cowl induction hood, wide dual exhaust tips, racing stripes painted over the top, and the form-fitting bumpers have a mirror-like glow. The full car's aggressive and shining nature really comes together on classic Cragar SS wheels that are a larger 17-inch size so that you can fit modern tires.
The black interior is a tasteful choice against the black exterior stripes. We love the classic style, right down to the two wide rows of bench seats. And it all has a freshness that makes the interior quite inviting. There's a great vintage appearance, right down to details like the working dome light and Delco AM/FM radio that's on display. But this also has the right well-integrated modern upgrades like the Vintage Air air conditioning system. And this one was made to be a true driver's coupe with upgrades like the wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, floor shifter, and upgraded gauges with large speedo and tach. And the Sniper EFI controller mounted in the ashtray is a great way to hide a very handy modern piece.
When you open the hood, the smooth inner walls funnel all your attention to the big V8 in the middle. You're looking at a 555 cubic-inch big block crate motor. While the monster displacement is usually plenty of displacement for most of us, this one also has plenty more. It's built right with aluminum heads, an Edelbrock Air-Gap aluminum intake, and long tube headers feeding the large 3-inch dual exhaust system. The motor is then topped with a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system. It's a stout package that the consignor states makes about 750 horsepower! There are even the right supporting components, like a serpentine belt system, MSD ignition, and an aluminum radiator with electric fans. The upgraded five-speed manual transmission gives you full control over the big power package. This feeds an aluminum driveshaft on its way to the stout 12-bolt rear end. And as you look underneath, you'll spot more upgrades, like the full Hotchkis suspension that includes tubular A-arms up front, tubular control arms in the rear, and sway bars front and rear. Power steering, modern/grippy ZR-rated tires, and four-wheel power disc brakes make it an all-around solid driver.
The sale comes with service manuals and a receipt documenting over $9k spent on just the motor in 2018. Fuel-injected big block power, a radiant style, and plenty of comforts all come together on this Chevelle. So if you want your classic to be upgraded and iconic, don't miss this deal. Call now!
