Description:
I'm offering a 1985 frame off restored El Camino. It was not born as an SS, but the builder upgraded the suspension to SS specs and added badges and hood to give it the look. The engine is a 472 Cadillac bored and stroked to 502. It has abundant power and torque. The transmission is a built 400. Everything is fresh in the drivetrain. It has Foose wheels on it. The interior is freshly done in leather including the matching wrap on the steering wheel. The seats are extremely comfortable. It is equipped with factory air and it has a new compressor and is converted to R134a freon. It has a nice stereo unit with a USB plug on the side of the radio bump out. It has power steering and brakes. The brakes are disc on the front and drum on the rear.
The builder started with a rust free car that only had two small dings which he had removed with the paintless method. It has a high end paint job and he filled all of the spot welds in the bed so the bed is as flawless as the finish on the rest of the car. He then had the hood painted with the proper SS stripe. The paint shows beautifully with no blemishes. The car has 66,000 miles from new and approximately 3,000 since the total restoration.
I had an 86 from new and drove it for about 5 years. I loved the feel of the inside of the cab. The way the back window curves in behind you is a unique feeling. I spotted this one at a car show when we were traveling in our motor home and had to have it. It drives down the road every bit as comfortably as my 86 did when new. I have too many toys, so something has to go.
