This 1979 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger has a bright style, mean stance, and proper V8 power to keep this 4x4 quite versatile. And as you look over the full package you see an authentic, premium, and documented style that makes this convertible SUV irresistible.
The second-generation Bronco is where Ford turned it up a notch. Larger styling, larger engines, and an overall larger presence. So it was an instant legend even if it was only around for two short years. This bolder Bronco idea was really taken to heart in this example. It has a rugged style with a lifted suspension sitting on polished Pro Comp wheels and meaty Pro Comp tires. This doesn't like to be bashful, and so the radiant Billet Silver is a great factory-correct color made even better with a later respray. Silver goes great with black, which makes the accents an attractive full package with the dark grille, rubber rub strip in the premium XLT side trim, and sharp-looking removable hardtop. This is an SUV built for fun, so the overall impression is a classic that's not so fancy that you'll refrain from 4x4 duty. In fact, the proper tow hitch and trailering side mirrors mean this is the one that's going to make appearances everywhere from the boat ramp to the campsite.
The interior is a terrific presentation of the 1970s-style cloth weave pattern within the tasteful black seats. It all looks highly original and well-preserved for its age. So while you can take the fiberglass hardtop off to make this a convertible 4x4, you can instantly tell from the condition of the interior that this has not spent extended time exposed to the elements. As a premium Ranger XLT trim package you get some nice wood grain appliques on the doors, steering wheel, and dash. The driver's seat is a true command position. You have sporty front bucket seats with a cup holder center console. The factory wheel with fingertip cruise control buttons. The center stack has the power rear window control, heater controls, and a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner. And for added distinction, it's believed that Jack Roush's signature is next to the glovebox!
While the previous generation Bronco stopped at Ford's 302 V8, the second-gen means proper 351 cubic inches of power. This has a strong-running nature you love in a 351M. And while we all know these love performance upgrades, this refreshingly stock-style motor delivers the torque-filled kind of power you can appreciate on day one. A two-speed 4x4 transfer case, beefy axles, and deep tread the Pro Comp MT2 Tri-Ply tires mean this powerful classic can still take you deep into the wilderness. But it also has features like a three-speed automatic transmission, coil spring front end, power steering, and power brakes with front discs to make it a fine choice for in-town.
The sale comes complete with terrific paperwork that includes the Marti Report, a reproduction window sticker, and a copy of the buildsheet. The second-generation Bronco was only available for a couple of years. So when you can find an example that is well sorted and well-documented, then you know you need to hurry on this deal. Call now!
