Description:
This stunning black F100 combines smooth, sleek body panels with modern high-performance running gear and one of the nicest custom interiors to ever grace a pickup truck. Mustang II components are utilized as are other "best-in-class" parts. A powerful engine, creature comforts and modern technology are all utilized in the building of this fantastic F100 to life.
Gorgeous and smooth, Ford F100s are becoming rarer and have always been in strong demand. Our owner always wanted a truck like this and decided he would have to get one. But when they turned out to be difficult to find and purchase he built a new one starting with original vintage parts, some reproduction parts and lots of the very best hardware available. Our unique truck is actually titled as a "Year 2000 ASVE (special construction) and the model is "1955 Ford". A quality vehicle that was built right, it started as a newly fabricated boxed frame specially made to accommodate his vision of the perfect 1955 F100. That vision included the vintage truck body, a modern powerful driveline and creature comforts to make it fun. The completed truck is now available. Let's take a look!
Genuine original Ford F100 parts were sourced to fashion the exterior. The cab, doors, hood and grill are all original. The swoopy fenders, tailgate, and running boards are all reproductions. All of it has been expertly finished and painted in deep gleaming black with blue metal flake. The "F100" and "Fordomatic" badges look great against the black. Every panel is arrow straight and the fitment is correct. American Racing Rebel rims with high performance BFG tires are on all 4 wheels. The bed is a thing of beauty. Alternate strips of finished pine and stainless steel contrast the straight, smooth bed to make a functional pickup that is ready for hauling or a car show. A chrome replacement bumper has been joined to the front rails of the custom frame.
One of the nicest truck interiors we have ever seen graces this F100. The chrome dash insert houses the autometer gauge cluster and the power windows are a welcome addition. Vintage Air provides the AC setup and an "Ididit" brand steering column holds the polished Grant steering wheel. The shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission rises out of the floor covered with black carpet. The two-tone bench seat and door panels are simply beautiful and are expertly crafted. The seat and door panels have been custom finished with hand-stitched vintage Ford logos. Beauty, comfort and functionality are embodied in this gorgeous truck's interior.
Here are the highlights of this specially built truck. The frame was newly fabricated and powder coated. It is boxed for strength and rigidity and to attach all of the front end parts for a Mustang II as well as the truck's body and running gear. SSBC disc brakes on all four wheels, a Ford 9" rear end with 3:89 gears and a limited slip differential has been installed as well. A Ford 351 Windsor engine bored .040 over with a Holley carb, MSD ignition, and an Edelbrock intake are just some of the performance parts that you'll find under the hood. A Ford Toploader 4-speed transmission shifts the truck. The engine bay is clean and orderly thanks to a Billet Specialties polished front accessory drive for the AC compressor, alternator and power steering pump. The ride is controlled by a 4-wheel Airlift Performance adjustable air ride package. The truck's ride is tight, it tracks straight and is comfortable, too.
There is one small issue with the truck. The tachometer behaves erratically.
A fabulous truck, plain and simple. Built using the best parts and made to run like the wind in style, this 1955 F100 is going to make some new buyer very happy.
