As you can imagine, the spartan interior wasn't designed for luxury, but rather for reliable usage in trying environments. As such, you won't find much in the way of comfort and convenience features inside these doors, but make no mistake, this is a very evocative driving environment that's sure to elevate your mood as soon as you step inside and the split-bench seat is completely functional in its present condition. The original gauges still hold their positions at the center of the dash and, while the gas gauge may require a bit of attention to get back online, the rest of the displays seem to be in good working order.

This truly unique ride is powered by a 478-cubic-inch inline six-cylinder turbocharged engine that prefers diesel fuel but, if the situation calls for it, can also operate on kerosene and even gasoline in an emergency, as long as that gasoline is combined with clean motor oil in the proper ratio. The engine is enhanced by an LTD-465-1C turbocharger that gained a reputation for providing better performance than its rivals and is in fine working order, starting up promptly via a sequence of switches mounted on the dashboard and combining with a 5-speed manual transmission. It's not often that we can refer to a vehicle as having six-wheel drive, but this classic qualifies, and the feature combines with a live front axle and is activated by a 2-speed transfer case.
