Nationally known as “Draggin’ Wagon”, this 2014 Ram 1500 Express 2WD was designed and built for the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. It went on to take 1st Place at the Detroit Autorama, Best of Show (Custom) at the Muscle car and Corvette Nationals, and was featured multiple times in Truckin’ and Street Trucks magazines. Built to be the ultimate muscle truck featuring 535 supercharged horsepower derived from a Magnuson supercharger it is not only a well rounded sunny day driver, but can also be an easy to manage daily-driver. It has even seen track days at M1 Concourse and was auto crossed on HOT ROD’s Power Tour. It is well sorted and currently has 26,000 miles on the odometer.
Under hood, air delivery to the 5.7 HEMI is maximized with a K&N cold air intake feeding a Magnuson supercharger utilizing an Eaton 2300 TVS rotor pack making over 525 HP and backed up with an 8-speed automatic and a 3:56 sure-grip rear end. The performance pros at RM Motorsports, Wixom, MI handled the installation with the Magnuson engineering team doing the tuning. The exhaust flows through a cat back system and 5” tips from Magnaflow. Stopping power is increased with rotors and pads from EBC Brakes. A JMS PedalMax eliminates throttle lag.
The suspension is lowered 3”/4” thanks to a BellTech suspension kit, McGaughy’s drop spindles and Hellwig sway bar. The stance has been given a “rubber rake” with Toyo Tires nestled into the fenders on staggered 20”/22” color matched Forgeline rims. Tire graphics by Tredwear say “For Turning” on the fronts and “For Burning” on the rears.
Designer Murray Pfaff has applied his award winning design aesthetic with a set of custom “eye black” brake ducts, hood intake, and “washboard” hood vent. These one off parts were created in CAD by Classic Design Concepts and 3-D printed (laser-sintered) in Nylon 11 by the Synergeering Group. Other custom fabrication includes a rear bumper with flipped center section, relocated exhaust “eye-brows” and serves as a tucked roll pan complete with license plate mount and lights.
The headlights have been treated to full treatment with projector beams, smoked reflector, white daytime running lights (DRL) and orange sequential turn signals. The taillights were built to match complete with sequential signals. Custom “ram horn” roof brackets secure the 54” Heise LED light bar to the roof, while a 42” Heise light bar nestles perfectly in the fascia. A pair of Hella Rallye 4000-X LEDs sit in the fog light pockets.
The updated Mopar graphic package in the stock base granite, white, and angry banana pearl PPG Envirobase paint was applied by the paint experts at That’s Minor Customs in Clinton Township, MI. XPEL ultimate paint protection film across the front protects the custom paint from road rash.
Inside the leather interior upgrade by Alea Leather in black with yellow tracer stitch has been created to compliment the neo-classic exterior. The bezel on the center stack has been color matched in “angry banana”. A compliment of MTX Audio speakers, MTX Audio THUNDER693 6 x 9 3-Way 100W RMS 4 Ohm Coaxial are powered by a MTX THUNDER800.5 800W RMS 5-Channel Full Range Class D Amplifier. A Thunderform Dual 10 inch 200W RMS Vehicle Specific Custom Enclosure tucks under the back seat provides the solid bass beat. A trio of chrome Kleinn Demon train horns hides under the chassis and clear the way while a QuickSHOT compressor and 2.5 gallon tank keep them charged. The AirLift system also provides load leveling with helper springs complete with in-cabin controls.
Out back LINE-X protects the bed, Swing Cases keeps everything contained, while the molded TaleGator provides seating for two, and a Mopar rubber bed mat keeps your load from shifting. A Revolver X2 tonneau keeps your valuables safe by keeping thieves out.
Draggin’ Wagon was proudly built to be an iconic truck that is equal parts “show” and “go” without compromising the capability of a modern day pickup.
