This 1973 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible Restomod has an upgraded style that you'll instantly recognize the moment it comes into view. But this investment in this one also includes a custom interior, upgraded motor, and a better driving feel that makes sure you'll love this for more than just its appearance.
This is a Super Beetle, and it takes the "Super" part seriously. It's an exceptional build with a ton of custom details. The front end is smoothed with the turn signal moved to an inset position below the headlight. The rear fenders are widened to accommodate the broader rear tires. The taillights and license plate are frenched, the bumpers are replaced with nerf bars, and the rubber running boards are now bright aluminum step plates. Best of all, the bright orange paint really loves to let this custom sun bug radiate in the sunshine. But more than just bold, you're going to see plenty of quality in this build. The finish has a smooth feel from a professional application. And the consignor claims all-new chrome, stainless trim, rubber, and the convertible top (and they all have the quality look of a newer investment.)
The black roof looks good against the bold orange, but it gets even better when you take it down. After all, the custom color-matched roll bar gives this one a great sporty style while also adding strength. They pay tribute to the classic VW style with details like the VDO speedometer, simple door panels, and a Wolfsburg crest in the middle of the steering wheel. But really, you know there's nothing stock about this interior. The front seats are modern Procar units with plenty of bolstering. The rear seat has been deleted to make room for a custom subwoofer setup that connects to the AM/FM/CD stereo. The dash has an attractive cloth wrap that helps integrate the custom driver-oriented layout. You get upgraded gauges, including a large AutoMeter tach with shift light. And you take proper control of it all with the sports steering wheel and Gene Berg four-speed shifter.
The engine bay has plenty of polish to make it ready to put on display. Of course, it's the substance behind the style that you'll really love. It's a 1600cc motor that is said to be upgraded to 1776cc. It also has a Weber carburetor, Scat intake, and a custom exhaust system. It's a strong runner, and that's what makes a hardy Beetle great. Plus, you have newer front bushings, front disc brakes, and enhanced grip from the wider rear tires.
This is a Super Beetle in the truest form. So if you love a full custom that will be unique everywhere it arrives, don't miss this VW.
