INTRODUCTION: This Cadillac combines the incredible style of a '40s fastback with luxury and muscle. The sweeping body lines have tremendous presence, while the custom interior lives up to the Cadillac name with full leather, air conditioning, and modern amenities. Under the hood, a GM 502 crate motor delivers the muscle to match the looks. One of the country's larger collector car dealers owned this Cadillac as his personal car for the last 12 years. It was body off frame restored, has been serviced, and is ready to drive and enjoy!

EXTERIOR: I absolutely love the fastback design of this Cadillac. It's an impressive piece of American sheet metal with a long, flowing profile and tremendous presence. The slender rear fenders are especially distinctive and really emphasize the sleek fastback shape. The body is clean and solid with no rust or damage. The gaps are tight and consistent, and everything fits together very nicely. The black paint has been polished to a smooth, deep gloss that complements the abundance of brightwork perfectly. Overall, the chrome and paint are highly presentable without claiming perfection. The glass is also in very nice condition. The stance has been tastefully updated with 18-inch Coys wheels wrapped in Yokohama tires. There's one particularly cool Cadillac detail hiding in plain sight: the taillight assembly pops up to reveal the gas cap!

INTERIOR: As you'd expect in a Cadillac, the interior is all about luxury. It's roomy and wrapped in leather from wall to wall. The front seats even have the shoulder belts incorporated right into them, the driver's side is power. The back seat is upholstered to match and features a fold down center armrest, while the custom side panels are finished in leather as well. Power windows add another modern convenience. The dash is especially impressive. It retains that very cool factory designed instrument panel, now upgraded with vintage style modern gauges. A beautiful polished tilt column is topped with a custom steering wheel. The one off center console houses illuminated cup holders, storage, a touchscreen infotainment system, and an automatic shifter with slap-shift capability. Speakers are neatly incorporated into the doors and rear package shelf, and of course the headliner has been completely redone. The more I look around this interior, the more impressed I am! It's luxurious, unique, and exceptionally well executed.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood is some serious Cadillac sized muscle: a GM Performance 502 big block producing 461 horsepower and a massive 558 lb-ft of torque. It's a stout combination built with 4-bolt mains, an all forged rotating assembly, and a roller cam, yet it's designed to run comfortably on pump gas. Up top is an aluminum intake, dual feed Holley carb, electronic ignition, and there's a set of headers too. It's dressed up nicely with aluminum Chevrolet valve covers and a dual snorkel air cleaner. A March Front Runner system really cleans up the front of the engine with billet brackets, serpentine pulleys, a polished A/C compressor and alternator, plus modern power steering with a remote reservoir. Keeping that big block cool is an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and an overflow bottle. The engine compartment itself is clean and neatly finished in black, providing a great backdrop for all the polished components.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Open the trunk and, as you'd expect from a Cadillac, there's plenty of room. It's neatly finished with a complete 1948-style trunk liner kit, maintaining the proper vintage appearance. Underneath the mat is added sound insulation.

UNDERSIDE: Professionally upgraded for improved performance, handling, and reliability. Up front, it features a Fat Man front clip with tubular upper and lower control arms, coilover shocks, an adjustable sway bar, and rack-and-pinion steering. In back are leaf springs with lowering blocks and air shocks for the perfect stance. The braking system has been upgraded with power disc brakes at all four wheels, with the power brake booster neatly mounted under the floor. The fuel system has been replaced, along with a dual exhaust featuring stainless Flowmaster mufflers. Looking up at the drivetrain, everything is clean and well detailed, including a high torque starter and chrome flywheel cover. Power is sent through a recently rebuilt 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission, custom driveshaft, and a Ford 8.8 rear end with 3.73 posi gears. The floors, frame, rockers, and supports are all exceptionally clean, with the frame finished in gloss black and the floors in satin black.

SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and our reputation. Every vehicle goes through our service department where it is inspected, test driven, and we address the essentials before offering it for sale.

CONCLUSION: You're not going to pull into a show and park next to another one like it! Best of all, you're getting a tremendous amount of car for the money. At this price point, I think it represents an exceptional value. Turn the key, enjoy the luxury and muscle, and get ready for plenty of attention wherever you go!

1948 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe

For consignment, a lead sled in 1948 Cadillac series 62 form with a mere 26,670 actual miles and looking similar to ZZ top star Billy Gibbons CadZIlla. A completely outrageous car with a chopped roofline, frenched headlights, tinted glass, painted bumpers and a custom tail light setup. Low n slow but it will go very fast if you want. All bathed in Blurple, (excuse me!), and shining like a crazy diamond.

 Exterior
Our consignor has spent copious amounts of money to make this creation and it shows all over it. A custom fashioned chromed waterfall grille, Blurple, (excuse me!), a painted bumper with inserted signal lights, frenched headlights and a bulbous hood and this is just the start. That hood has a gaggle of blue and pink pinstripe flourish and the ornament topper is long gone. The roofline has been chopped and now sports tinted glass. The long front quarters are devoid of any chrome, and the doors use poppers to open them as the handles have been shaved. Custom body matching mirrors hang off of the doors. The back of the car is a beautiful extruded bubble for the trunk and rear glass just above. All shaved and clean. The iconic rear quarters have a bump up on their trailing edges and in lieu of the taillight being there some custom vertical tail lights have been inserted into the backs of the quarters. Another Blurple, (excuse me!), painted bumper seamlessly runs between the rear renters and tail light panels. Fender skirts nearly obscure the rear wheels but these are 15-inch Colorado Custom wheels all polished and wrapped with 225/55R17 low profile rubber.

 Interior
A pop of the doors and I'm greeted with a nifty combo of tweed and leather. Leather for the sills and tweed for the lowers which house a simple billet actuator and a molded in armrest. All this menagerie is in a cream and mauve color way. Seats take from the door panels and are using cream leather on the wide tuck and roll seats and back inserts and mauve tweed for the bolsters. A custom console runs through the center and is mauve tweed and a leather top. In back is a fancy overstuffed cream leather tuck and roll bench which is just fab! Upfront is a Blurple dash with late model sweep instruments in the drivers side panel. A couple of eyeball AC vents and knobs for AC are also in this panel which stretched across the front. Cream is the coloring for the padded dash top. On the rise to the dash from the console is a Boss AM/FM/Bluetooth touch screen radio. In the center console are also toggles for the windows and seat adjustment joysticks. Fronting the dash for the driver is a billet styled leather covered steering wheel on a tilt column. The paint on the dash front is showing a few cracks. A custom tweed headliner is above all this action.

 Drivetrain
In the restored engine bay now sits a big block 454ci V8. Our consignor states it puts out 330hp but no documentation is seen to back this up. It has a single 4-barrel carburetor on top and a TH350 3 speed automatic transmission on back. he rear axle is a 10 bolt 2.43 geared version. Stock dual exhaust is on for the exhale.

 Undercarriage
All clean and rust proofed to perfection and no rust. Also nearly non existent road dirt. Independent coil springs are in front, and on back a 4 link with coil springs is on. Power disc brakes are in front and power drums for the back

 Drive-Ability
The car fires right up and runs like a Cadillac with a 454ci V8. Very smooth, great acceleration and all the power options were in working order. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

A slightly aged look to this build but still totally custom and exterior lines that just sing. If you are looking for something completely different and a not oft seen Caddy lead sled, we've got your ticket!
