      <title>1966 Chevrolet El Camino</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/chevrolet/el_camino/1966/listing/237842</link>
<description>INTRODUCTION: The exceptional fit and finish on this El Camino is sure to impress, that's why it's wearing a tuxedo: tuxedo black! It's going to be a pleasure to drive too with that 396, power steering and power disc brakes.

EXTERIOR: It's a real black beauty! It just presents itself very nicely with its clean body, high gloss paint, and sparkling chrome. The long panels are straight with no rust or damage showing. The tuxedo black is polished to a very high gloss, smooth finish. Even the jambs are glossy and have new weatherstrips. Upfront the grille, bumper, and hood ornament have been replaced. The stainless trim around the windows, gutters, bed opening, and wheel wells have been replaced. The door handles, bow tie mirror and in back the emblems, bumper, and tail lights were all replaced. The rally wheels are 15x7s in front and 15x8s in back, and they are wearing shiny trim and BFG tires.

INTERIOR: It has a very tidy interior, not to mention sporty with a set of bucket seats and center console! In front of me is a mint dash pad, all the chrome bezels have been replaced, the heater control panel looks new and it has a new reproduction steering wheel on a tilt column. That original AM/FM radio actually has modern internals including Bluetooth. New dual speakers are in the dash and wires are run behind the seats if you want to easily add speakers. The center console has a working clock, the seats are nice and firm, the seat backs are excellent. The carpet is fresh and has reproduction mats. Behind the passenger seat is a new spare tire and rally wheel with a new complete jack assembly. The headliner, visors and mirror look like new too. Even the fuse block was replaced. Not only is most of it new, it also fits right giving you the feeling your sitting in a new 1966 El Camino.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Yup, that is a big block 396 engine sitting there! It has the rectangular port heads and an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake. It also has reproduction chrome valve covers and air cleaner. It is even detailed with reproduction GM hoses and clamps, Delco battery topper and spring clamp cables. The components look new like the fuel pump, pulleys, alternator, and clutch fan. The power steering pump was replaced and it has the correct remote reservoir. It also has a new and upgraded power brake system with a dual master cylinder. It is very complete: the squirters are hooked up and it has the glass bottle of concentrate fluid. Overall, a very nice appearance!

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the bed is rock solid, clean metal all painted gloss black. The tailgate opens and closes properly and has chrome hinges.

UNDERSIDE: Not sure how long it lived in California but it sure has dry, clean metal under here. The floors, braces and inner rockers look to be original and in excellent shape. The steering and suspension has been rebuilt as needed. We replaced the idler arm, the front springs and shocks appear to be recent and it is upgraded with polyurethane swaybar bushings. The dual exhaust has been replaced and has factory type mufflers. The brakes have been redone and were upgraded with discs in front and the e-brake is hooked up. The fuel tank was recently replaced too. Looking up at the motor it is clean, you can see fresh freeze plugs and it is upgraded with a high torque starter. Upgraded Turbo 350 automatic transmission, the driveshaft has fresh u-joints and connects to a 10 bolt rear end.

SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell.

CONCLUSION: This is an attractive ElCamino with some muscle and it is in impressive condition. You CAN have a really good one without breaking the bank!

Vehicles are displayed in a museum setting. Admission applies without an appointment and is refunded with purchase, including a one-year museum membership.

      <title>1966 Chevrolet El Camino</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/chevrolet/el_camino/1966/listing/236122</link>
<description>This cool classic 1966 Chevrolet El Camino presents itself well. The white paint still has its shine and looks sharp with the racing stripes. The aftermarket rims add character while keeping the stance correct for the age of the car. All the badges are in the correct places, and there is a spray-on bed liner in the back. In the rear, under the bumper, is a bolted-in tow hitch assembly, and to the left and right are chrome tailpipes that stick out just the right amount.

The interior is blue with a secondary color of gray. Two gray bucket seats come from a more modern vehicle and are in decent shape. On the floor in the center, in front of the seats is a floor-mounted Winter Performance Sidewinder shifter. A custom steering wheel is installed along with a Sun Tach tachometer on the steering column. The dashboard gauges are original, but there is a tri-pod set of gauges bolted underneath to keep a better eye on the engine's performance. An older-style aftermarket SANYO radio is mounted in the dashboard with AM/FM/Cassette. Below that is the temperature control cluster, and rounding out the interior is a spare tire behind the passenger seat.

Under the hood sits a 350 Tune Port Injection V8 mated to a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission, which connects to a 12-bolt rear axle. The front suspension is equipped with A-arms and coil-overs, and the rear suspension handles business with coil springs, shocks, and a set of traction bars. For slowing things down, the El Camino is equipped with power front disc brakes and rear power drum brakes. Fifteen-inch American Racing wheels sit at all four corners. For rubber, the front uses 225/70R15 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires, while the rear is fitted with 275/60R15 BFG Radial T/A tires. For a nice old-school rumble, the Chevy is equipped with stock-style manifolds, dual exhaust, and chambered mufflers.

  Highlights:

  •350 Tune Port Injection V8
 •700R4 4-speed Automatic Transmission
 •12-Bolt Rear Axle

Some cars just never lose their following of loyal fans, and the El Camino is one of them. This 1966 Chevrolet El Camino is a perfect example of a true classic. The stance is stock, the wheels are old-school, and it has a lot of character from many years of not being a trailer queen, but instead being out on the road, giving people the freedom they so truly deserve. <description>Sleek lines and classic proportions make the 1966 Chevrolet El Camino instantly recognizable in its crisp Ermine White finish. The long body creates an unmistakable profile that has maintained its appeal for decades. Chrome trim accents the front grille and surrounds the windows, providing perfect contrast against the white paint. The 15" Cragar wheels fill out the wheel wells with P215/70R15 front and P225/70R15 rear tires mounted for proper stance. Dual exhaust exits complete the rear view with a performance-minded aesthetic.

Red vinyl covers the interior surfaces, creating a bold contrast against the white exterior. A comfortable bench seat provides ample room for driver and passenger while the straightforward dashboard houses essential gauges and controls. The column-mounted shifter controls the Powerglide transmission and an AM radio sits ready to provide road trip entertainment. A recently installed headliner tops off the cabin, giving a fresh look to the upper surfaces while maintaining the factory-correct appearance throughout.

Muscle comes from a 283 cubic inch V8 engine connected to a 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission. The mechanical package includes power steering, coil spring suspension at all four corners, and helper springs added to the rear. An aluminum radiator keeps operating temperatures in check during summer cruising. The dual exhaust system adds a proper V8 soundtrack when accelerating, and the 10-bolt rear axle puts power to the pavement with appropriate strength for the drivetrain.
