INTERIOR: it's a factory white interior car, and it's practically brand new inside from the carpet to the headliner. The dash area has been completely restored, including all the bezels, rally gauges, knobs, and even the glove box liner, which is pristine. The seats have excellent cushion and have been properly reupholstered. It features all new reproduction carpet, door panels, headliner, visors, and more-everything fits and presents beautifully. And the best part: a 4-speed shifter rising out of the floor between the bucket seats-exactly how a car like this should be. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has its original, VIN-matching 426 HEMI that has been completely rebuilt and professionally bored and stroked to 484 cubic inches. It was dyno tested at an impressive 634 horsepower and 581 lbs of torque! This engine is dialed in-the sound alone is pure music out of the tailpipes! The engine compartment is completely restored and detailed to factory-correct standards, the only variation are the headers which really unleashes this Hemi's potential. It features the proper fuel lines feeding dual Carter carburetors, a correct air cleaner, crinkle-finish valve covers, and even reproduction spark plug wires routed just as original. The cooling system is correct as well, including reproduction hoses and clamps. Everything is proper: the horns and squirters are hooked up, the wiper motor is restored, it has a reproduction battery and even has correct overspray on the negative cable. The entire bay is beautifully painted and detailed and the original fender tag is still attached. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's finished just as nicely as the rest of the car. Everything is painted in the beautiful B5 Blue, including under the trunk lid, the jambs, and inside. It's detailed with the correct reproduction sticker, weatherstrip, and trunk mat. It also includes a restored jack assembly and a painted blue rim fitted with a reproduction redline tire-just as it would have come from the factory. UNDERSIDE: It's just as pristine underneath as the rest of the car. The floors are spotless, clean metal finished in the correct slop gray primer with authentic blue overspray from the body. The suspension and steering have been completely rebuilt and detailed to assembly-line standards. The brake system has been fully restored with all new lines, and the emergency brake is properly hooked up. The fuel system has also been replaced, including the tank and lines. The exhaust sounds fantastic-factory-style dual exhaust with a crossover pipe and chrome tips exiting below the bumper. Looking up at the drivetrain, it features an extra-capacity oil pan to help keep the engine running cooler and cleaner. A Sunpro triple gauge monitors the vitals and the factory gauges also have a tachometer included. The thumbwheel a/m radio has a really cool built in 8 track player. All the interior lights are working. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: VIN numbers matching 440 Magnum makes 375hp! Nicely optioned with factory air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes. It is upgraded with a Mopar electronic ignition. All the belts and hoses were replaced. The battery is properly secured, plus the horn and squirters are hooked up. Everything looks proper including the cast iron high performance exhaust manifolds. The original fender tag is in place. The underside of the hood, fender wells and firewall are all painted body color. The engine runs strong and sounds great. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the trunk lid and jamb are painted slick just like the body. A reproduction jack sticker was added and the weatherstrip was replaced. Inside is all clean and solid metal that was also painted body color. The trunk mat was replaced. UNDERSIDE: Pretty stock looking and totally fresh! The steering components were rebuilt and everything works like it should. Same for the suspension, front and back shocks were replaced and the correct R/T leaf springs look great. There is a big fat front swaybar with fresh links and bushings. It has power drum brakes at all wheels, the e-brake is hooked up, and all the lines are new. The exhaust system was replaced and now has a crossovers pipe and the correct polished tips exiting under the rear bumper. The gas tank and the fuel lines are also new. Looking up at the #'s matching 440 engine, everything is neatly painted. The 727 Torqueflite transmission looks recently serviced and the linkage was replaced. The 8¾ rear end looks good and was neatly repainted. The floors appear to be solid and rust free with a black textured undercoating. The frame was also prepped and painted body color. Webster defines a Coronet as a "small or lesser crown usually signifying a rank below that of sovereign". Given the extensive Dodge line in 1957, including fifteen trim levels, the Coronet Lancer was placed just below the Royal Lancer, hence the Coronet name. Today, it is as stately as anything coming out of 1957! Exterior Dodge's "Swept Wing" styling covered the entire nineteen options in '57, including the wagons, and is accentuated here by the stunning and stock configuration two tone layout of Flame Red and Cloud White. The wings also highlight the car's length which is substantial, while its bulk is perhaps tempered by the sandwiching of a red up between a white roof and lower half. This is quintessential '50's with bold and protruding rear tail lights under the wing's fin, underscored by a beefy chrome bumper. The front holds a wild design with a dual headlight appearance under the cartoonish brow of chrome trim, all over a massive twin bumper. The trunk sits well within big fenders and is adorned with twin torpedo ornaments. 14-inch wheels wear proper wheel covers and white wall tires to complete the epic style. The paint and metalwork are fantastic on the car, she is more than show ready. Some minor bubbling on a lower panel make up the short list of imperfections. Interior Black takes over for the white on the interior, starting on the door panels that stack red over black panels with some stainless trim to dress things up and both doors are in great shape. Black patterned inserts are rimmed with black piping on the split bench seats which are bordered in red vinyl, creating a striking contrast, and both front and rear seats are in excellent condition. The driver's station is a robust collection of a substantial steering wheel with a metal center, and an aircraft-like presentation of gauges, from the sweeping horizontal speedometer to the line of circular gauges over a series of chrome knobs. This is an artful and functional cockpit. Shifting is accomplished with the push button panel to the left of the wheel while entertainment is provided by the AM radio to the right. Black carpet covers the open floor nicely and a gray headliner is high and tight. The massive trunk is finished with a black carpeted floor and houses a spare with room for eight more if needed. Drivetrain An impressive engine awaits when you open the hood, what Dodge called their "aircraft type" V8, a 325ci Red Ram V8 rated at 245 horsepower, fueled through a 2-barrel carburetor and backed by a Torqueflite 3-speed automatic. 3.36 gears are found in the rear axle and power drum brakes on all four wheels do the taming of the power. Some staining on the intake manifold distracts from an otherwise clean and unique power plant under the hood. Undercarriage Conditions are very clean and uncomplicated underneath with minimal surface rust and only a touch of residual oil, including a few drops on each pan. Dual exhaust flows through glasspack style mufflers on their way straight back to angle cut tail pipes that exist under the bumper. Suspension consists of torsion bars up front and leaf springs in back. Drive-Ability The 1957 Dodge brochure, which we recommend owning, is replete with boastful claims of speed, handling, and rigidity. For a 1957, it certainly fits the bill with decent power and handling for such a big car. But it is a big car and really finds its niche in long slow straight aways where it cruises in comfort and runs well. This well sorted and well preserved car shows no signs of stopping and all functions on board operate as they should. The nameplate was originally used from 1949 to 1959 on Dodge's full size vehicle and it moved from the division's highest trim level to lowest during that time. The name was chosen as a "Coronet" is a style of crown worn by royalty. The cars were reintroduced as an intermediate car in 1965 when the muscle car era was in full force. This 1969 is considered part of the 5th generation but it was in the later half which received a complete redesign. This very cool car is a R/T which was the highest trim level under the newly introduced Super Bee. It has nice Red (Code R6) paint, a rear R/T tail stripe in White, a matching White vinyl top, and the Black tail light panel. It has the very cool dual scoop R/T hood with similar style double rear brake scoops. All of the stock style trim and chrome throughout is in good condition with no issues. These cars had unique long slender tail lights in back and double headlights up front. The car has a very tough look with a great stance on original Rally wheels with Redline tires which complement the overall look very nicely. The motor is a 440 V8 with the single 4 barrel carburetor. The majority of it is painted Orange and it looks really good under the hood. The Ramcharger system really sets it off funneling air directly from the hood scoops into the air cleaner. It has factory power steering and it is mostly stock except for a new battery. Backing the motor is a 3 speed automatic and the stock rear. The brakes, exhaust, and suspension are all stock as well. The underside of the car is in driver condition but all of the floors are solid without rust.
