      <title>1968 Ford Bronco</title>

      <description>1968 Ford Bronco

For consignment, a 1968 Ford Bronco showing 56,976 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This one had a frame off restoration, or should we say, resto-modification because it has four wheel disc brakes, saddle leather seats, and 20-inch chrome wheels.

  Exterior
Right before the two stage Rangoon Red strikes your eyes, your brain is processing the sheer height of this classic SUV which towers over stock examples. It's achieved by a lift kit of course, and the 20-inch American Racing wheels with 35x12.50R20LT all terrain tires on board. If you've ever retrofitted a matchbox or RC truck to be big and brash, here's the full sized example. Back to the paint, which is stunning, and augmented by a stainless side spear, rocker trim, and a function hood scoop/power bulge. Chrome bumpers cap the ends and an extra wheel is mounted on the back. A black canvas bikini top fits over the roll bars and a much needed step up is mounted to each side under the doors. Ford is expressed in red on the chrome grille and hood pins keep the fiberglass hood in place. Paint and trim is neart excellent and we could find no glaring imperfections on the outside.

  Interior
The shiny surfaces continue on the inside where the door card is constructed of diamond steel plate framed in our wonderful Rangoon Red. Up front, pleated saddle leather bucket seats flank a console and along with the typically small rear bench, the condition and color are fantastic, with more diamond steel plating on the rear sidewalls. The Trenz steering wheel looks like it was milled out of a single piece of pewter and wildly unique, fronting a clean dashboard with a typical offset speedometer on the left and knobs on the right. There's a retro radio on board which is not hooked up yet, but instructions accompany the rig. There's A/C on board and a beautiful soft leather dash pad and visors above the red panel. Tan carpet pieces with saddle trim cover the floor and the shifter wears a rubber boot on the transmission tunnel, finishing up this clean interior.

  Drivetrain
Gleaming under the hood is a 351ci Windsor V8, fuel injected and employing Edelbrock Performer Aluminum heads. It's backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission sending power to the Ford 9" out back and the Dana 44 up front. Headers begin the exhaust process. The truck runs on a 12 volt system.

  Undercarriage
Clean and dry underneath with red coil springs up front adding some color along with the red dust covers on the shocks. Power disc brakes are equipped at all four wheels and dual exhaust runs through Turbo mufflers then turn east and west to exit in front of the rear tires. Along with the radius arm and coil spring suspension up front, leaf springs are in back of this lifted Bronco.

  Drive-Ability
If you've spent some time in a deer stand, the height will feel routine here. Once in, you're way up! The 351 Windsor comes to life and would likely chase away any prize buck within a mile of the truck. No worries, you can chase it down with this truck because it's likely very capable off-road and has very good acceleration. We note the heater blower and reverse lights are not working, along with the aforementioned radio, but all other functional items operate as they should and we high tail it back to the lodge, er, mall. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Among the top five hottest specialty vehicles in the collector market has been, and continues to be, resto-modded classic Ford Broncos. This one checks all the right boxes and is an amazing spectacle, impressive at any angle, and especially from the driver's seat. Set your sights on this one and when you're ready, pull the trigger, then tag it and take it home!
