<description>Ford Custom 2 Door Club Coupe This CLASSIC ANTIQUE vehicle was purchased by the current owner about 20 years ago, and is being sold as part of the owner’s estate. The car was the owner's pride and joy and was meticulously maintained. The actual mileage is unknown, but it underwent a total restoration before this owner purchased the vehicle. The vehicle has been stored indoors, and started regularly. The vehicle was converted to a 12 Volt electrical system by a previous owner. The gauges, except for the speedometer, do not work due to the voltage difference. The engine is a 239 CID Flathead V8 developing 100 HP with a single 2 barrel carburetor. The engine starts and runs very smoothly. The engine and compartment are nicely detailed with the factory air cleaner. The transmission is a 3 speed manual with overdrive, so it travels nicely at highway speeds. The chassis is in excellent condition. Floor pans are painted body color, and very solid. There is no rust on the undercarriage. Tires are new Uniroyal Tiger Paw blackwalls, size P205/75 R15, mounted on factory rims painted red, with Ford center hub caps and chrome trim beauty rims. 4 wheel drum brakes are featured. The interior upholstery is in like new condition with rubber floor mats. The dash and door panels are gray with an off white headliner, all in excellent condition. Chrome handles, knobs, Steering Wheel and trim is all excellent. A heater, signal lights and a spotlight are also featured. A push button factory AM radio and Clock are also installed. The exterior paint is virtually flawless. This club coupe has deluxe features including chrome trim around all the glass, sun visor, front grill guard and rear bumper guard protecting the spare tire continental kit. Spare tire cover has a chrome outer cover and chrome hubcap. All the lights and lenses are excellent and a third brake light is mounted behind the rear glass. Stainless body side molding and rear fender skirts are the final finishing touches.</description>

      <description>1949 Ford Custom Club Coupe

For consignment the car that single handedly did away with the American car concept of old that utilized distinct fenders and running boards and ushered in the era of slab sided envelope styling with a clear clean line from front to back no running boards no protruding fenders. A blank canvas so to speak with the body in primer but the interior redone in a handsome 2 tone scheme, and showing 12,428 miles on the odometer. Unfortunately, these miles cannot be verified as original due to an exempt status for mileage on the title. A turnkey cruiser ready for you to let your imagination run wild.

  Exterior
Sitting in its simplified glory we have a nice chromed grille complete with a turbine style central moniker 8 in red. A circular F O R D hovers above and follows the line of the turbine and fronts the massive hood. All mostly straight steel panels, bathed in a coating of gray primer covers this split window, 2 door sedan. Up high bathing the roof is a nicely contrasting satin light blue. A few dings, scratches and scrapes are noted along with paint chips, but hey its primer and it's time you dig out the PPG color catalog. Bringing up the rear are two simple oval tail lights, some badging around the trunk lever, and a clean long and no marred bumper. A nice, chromed spear runs just below the belt line, is also pristine, and adds a nice highlight to the steel slab sides. As do the added aqua hued rear fender skirts, giving this car the signature "low and slow" look. Wide whites are on all 4 corners, and standard Ford wheel covers in their shining glory are present as well with just a hint of red peeking out at the edges.

  Interior
Opening the doors reveals very clean door panels with smooth vinyl in white taking center stage, and sandwiched between light blue steel uppers and light blue vinyl lowers. Nicely done bullet style handles are present, as is a vinyl covered armrest and swoopy chrome trim spear. Looking inward we are met with an inviting bench seat with a split back. These beauties are covered with smooth light blue vinyl bolsters and white tuck and roll inserts. Beautiful gold piping surrounds the edges, and they sit within a perfectly restored blue vinyl covered metal "tub" if you will. The rear bench emulates the same tasteful pattern and is also pristine. These benches sit upon a near perfect low pile blue carpeting. Turning our attention to the dash we see a centrally located circular gauge cluster surrounded below by a smattering of chromed knobs and pulls and light blue painted metal. An AM radio in chrome sits in the center of the dash right below a chromed winged circular clock which is mounted to the top of the dash. One more note to the interior, a Magic Air heater is mounted below the dash on the passenger's side and just in front of that is a modern AM/FM/CD stereo.

  Drivetrain
In the center of an unrestored engine bay sits a blue painted engine block and intake manifold topped by a chrome louvered air cleaner. All hoses are shiny and nearly new, and our consignor stated that the electrics have been converted to 12 volt, however we note the battery appears to still be a 6 volt unit. Worth mentioning, it is a 239ci Flathead V8 topped with a 2bbl carburetor, and it is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission. This combination sends power back to a 3.73 geared rear axle.

  Undercarriage
Not only ushering in the pontoon body style, the undercarriage was innovative as well in that a modern ladder frame now supports a coil spring independent suspension in front and longitudinal semi elliptical springs in back. The engine was moved forward to make more room in the passenger compartment and the antiquated "torque tube" was replaced by a modern driveshaft. All this shows in an unrestored invasive rust free environment with only minor patina and undercoating. A dual exhaust system with Cherrybomb mufflers handles the exhale from the flathead and appears as nearly new. Drum brakes are on all 4 corners to provide the stopping power, and now it's off to the races...er...um...test track.

  Drive-Ability
This car fired right up, ran smoothly, and drove very nicely. Despite its 75 years of age, it is a great cruiser with a very comfortable interior. No power steering makes getting in and out of tight places a little strenuous, but once the car is rolling it steers surprisingly easy. Good brakes, and functional exterior lighting was a plus and all functions were working at the time of my drive save for the clock, radio and heater blower. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

A piece of automotive history if you desire, with a new design that would last until cars grew fins, and an undercarriage that boldly went where no other US manufacturer went before. A very nice overall example with the interior and underside already up to snuff. Now it's up to you to pick the colors...let your imagination run wild!

      <description>Ford Woody-

This solid 1949 Ford 'Woody' wagon was restored in 2009 with many mechanical upgrades. The body of the vintage wagon appears to have most of the original exterior wood components. The wood has been refinished, and the body has been carefully resprayed in dark green. All chrome and trim are in very good condition.

  Looks Are In The Stance-

The wagon strikes a nice stance on steel wheels with trim rings/caps that mount Coker wide-white radial tires. A 'continental tire kit' completes the exterior package.

  Country Squire Of Wagons-

This is the 'Country Squire' of '49 wagons with 3-row seating. The custom interior is upholstered in tan vinyl, and the classic dash is fitted with a digital instrument pod and AM radio. A tilt column has been installed along with a custom wheel and window glass is lightly tinted. Wooden door panels, carpeting and headliner are all in good condition. The wagon is equipped with a modern Sanden A/C package, but it needs TLC now.

  Modern Ford Power-

The engine compartment is home for a rebuilt Ford 351ci Windsor V8 equipped with an aluminum intake/4V carb, electronic ignition and mild cam. Electrics have been converted to 12-volt, and an aluminum radiator with electric fan handles cooling. It is backed by a C4 3-speed automatic transmission. The chassis is equipped with rack/pinion power steering and power disc brakes w/dual master cylinder.

This rare Ford Woody wagon belongs in your Blue Oval garage.

      <description>1949 Ford Custom Convertible

For consignment, a 1949 Ford Custom convertible that's been nosed, decked, shaved, frenched, stretched, lowered, and fitted with parts from other cars to make a completely custom, one off version of a classic convertible. It looks good, and drives well having been driven to the Traditional Custom Car Show in Indianapolis four times!

  Exterior
Let's start with the borrowed parts. The grille is from a 1954 Chevy and has extra teeth, the tail lights are off of a 1954 Mercury, the side trim is from a Buick, and the wheel covers are off a Cadillac. Johnny Cash could write a song about this one! The primary color is red with a white belly under the Buick trim piece and a continental kit rides on the back. Trim has been removed from the hood but in its place is some pinstriping on the front edge and on the fender tops. The chrome bumpers look great as does the bright work, including the spotlights which happen to be dummies. Rear quarter panels have been stretched and custom fender skirts cover the rear wheels, emphasizing the shoulder line of the car which drops slightly from front to rear. Sport side mirrors add a streamline feature and the door handles have been shaved. The white canvas power soft top meets the windshield frame and hovers low, adding to the sleek profile of this big car. Imperfections included some cracking near a front wheel opening, a paint "run" in the white section down low on the body, and some imprecise gaps.

  Interior
Red and white dominate the inside too and start with vinyl clad door panels in classic smooth and stitched panels of alternating color and a body colored metal crown. Front bucket seats are based in white with stitched red inserts, white buttons, and red piping and this pattern is carried over to the rear bench seat, all looking to be in fine condition. A red Lecarra 4 spoke steering wheel, darkened with usage, is presented to the driver on a bright red tilt column which leads directly to a shiny red dashboard. Pinstriping and metal accents adorn the dash which houses the speedometer front and center. In the center of the dash we find a clock and an AM/FM radio just above a custom center console where standard AutoMeter gauges and a Sun tachometer are embedded. A horseshoe style shifter is floor mounted while the rest of the floor is covered in plush, high pile red carpet. This carpet can also be found lining the trunk along with a stitch vinyl sidewall and spare cover replete with white buttons. The battery resides in the trunk as well.

  Drivetrain
A 350ci V8 engine is under the hood topped with a 4-barrel Holley carburetor on an Edelbrock intake manifold. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission handles the mobility and sends power to the 10-bolt rear axle. Power drum brakes are found at all four wheels, and power steering is supplied to the steering wheels. Appearance wise, the engine bay looks pretty standard, clean but not as showy as the exterior and interior. But as we know from the consignor, this car is a runner! And probably stays cool with the electric fan that's been added.

  Undercarriage
Clean driver quality underneath with surface rust in some spots including around frame welds. Dual exhaust travels from the engine into a pair of Cherrybomb mufflers and then makes a beeline for the back where two huge tips stretch beyond the rear bumper. Coil springs handle the front independent suspension while leaf springs take on the back. We note some oil on the flywheel cover but the pan looks dry.

  Drive-Ability
We hop in the lead sled and roll her out onto the test loop, the 350 singing through the Cherrybombs in a distant song coming from the tailpipes in the next county! It's a big car, comfortable and manageable as we make our way to and from the garage. The 350 might not spin the tires, but it's got enough grunt to move the car confidently down the straight away and the power brakes come in handy around turns. You're looking over a long hood and have a lot of real estate in the back too, so we're mindful of turn ins. Everything works fine with the exception of the horn, the clock, and the driver's door popper.

If you're looking for a one of a kind big bodied hot rod, this is it! Unique modifications render a big presence and plenty of room for the family, and their luggage! Johnny Cash said it best. "You'll know it's me when I come through your town, I'm gonna ride around in style, I'm gonna drive everybody wild, Cause I'll have the only one there is around.".
