<description>This 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe Convertible-better known as a Shoebox Convertible-is pure post-war cool, the kind of car that didn't just follow trends... it created them. Clean lines, low stance, and unmistakable presence-this is where classic American design started getting bold.

Under the hood sits the original 239 Flathead V8, paired to the iconic "3-on-the-tree" manual. It's not about brutal speed-it's about that smooth, mechanical rhythm that defined an era. Row your own gears, hear that flathead hum, and cruise the way it was meant to be.

This car has seen an older restoration, but it wasn't done halfway. It was brought back to factory form using authentic parts-not cheap reproductions-and it shows. The fit, the finish, the feel... it all hits right. Even today, it stands tall as a true head-turner.

Drenched in Bright Red with a black convertible top that glides up and down like it's still 1950, this Shoebox brings the look. Steel wheels painted to match, capped off with chrome hubcaps, keep it clean and period correct. Open the trunk and you'll find the full-size spare-because details matter.

Inside, it's classic Americana-black and red vinyl that ties the whole car together without trying too hard. It's got heat, an AM radio, and it's still running the original 6-volt system-just the way it left the factory.

Manual drum brakes, power top, and nothing extra you don't need. No gimmicks. No shortcuts. Just a timeless drop-top that reminds you why these cars still own the road.

<description>1950 Ford Custom Deluxe Country Squire Woody Station Wagon

For consignment, a frame off restored 1950 Custom Deluxe Country Squire woody wagon looking the part with its rounded lines accented by chrome trimmings.  A worked over and souped up 239ci flathead V8 and beautiful wood for the passenger's compartment, but all still retaining that post-war Ford charm.  A fine example showing a mere 11,991 title verified actual miles gracing our South hallway or maybe even the main showroom.  These cars tend to move all over the Hallowed Halls of the Classic Auto Mall.

  Exterior
All steel with attached chrome upfront sporting a center bullet style ring and building on this design to complete the entire grille.  Chrome is in great condition, showing excellent and mirror-like all around.  The steel shows with some slight rust bubbling on the lowers and is bathed in a year correct hue of Cambridge Maroon.  The paint overall remains shiny but does present with its fair share of cracking and chips.  This car has one of the coolest hood ornaments, very art deco style with its pointed raised sides and 1/4 circle clear insert.  Part of the post war redesign, we note slab sided fenders, we are moving into the modern era of the next car look as to the overall design genre.  A hinged on the back hood with some curved edges, and a bulbous badged front section let us know we are firmly in Ford country, but starting with the dual pane windshield we move into another world altogether.  We see a central passenger compartment which utilizes a mix of blonde oak boarding and panels to make up the square doors and rear side panels.  A full length Cambridge Maroon steel roof covers this wooden compartment and rounds over the roof edges creating the perfect topper.  More maroon steel is taking shape for the bottoms of the rear fenders and crystal clear sliding glass for the 2nd row seating area gives your passengers a wonderful view of the countryside as you motor along.  Moving to the back we note the clamshell style steel rear gate with its spare tire cover and round chrome bezel tail lights.  A near perfect chrome bumper with upright guards sits below all of this and 15-inch maroon steel wheels with polished trim rings and chrome Ford logo moon caps and deeply treaded wide whites round out the package.

  Interior
Taking some liberties to show off the fine finishes of the interior, the maroon painted metal dash with exterior matching curved design is nearly pristine and houses a large centered speedo, with surrounding oil, battery, temp, and fuel gauges.  We note a central clock is above an original oval faced round push button Ford AM radio.  Fronting the dash is a red bakelite steering wheel with chromed horn half ring all presenting as nearly new.  A clean tan carpet is below in good condition, and above is a tan headliner nice and tight with no stains.  The 2 rows of chairs are now covered in nice medium saddle leather and there are a split and solid benches for the front and rear row respectively.  The door panels are finished in a faux oak paneling and have chromed handle accenting for the cranks and actuators.  A large round brown bakelite steering wheel with a black leather wrapped rim fronts this dash.  The inside of the passenger compartment is pure art with a mix of wood, cloth and leather.

  Drivetrain
Flipping the hinged hood, we see in the restored engine bay, a 239ci flathead V8 which our decoder states is correct for this car.  The mill is fed air and fossils via a pair 2-barrel carburetors sandwiched between an Offenhauser intake manifold and small chrome air cleaner assemblies.  We note the addition of Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads along with a conversion to a 12 volt system with an alternator replacing the generator.  A 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive is on back which sends power to a 4.10 geared rear axle.

  Undercarriage
An X frame with no rust firmly supports rust floor pans and body hangers all in a nicely applied black.  This is definitely an all solid undercarriage environment with very few flaws to note, with even the dual exhaust system and glasspack style mufflers looking nearly new.  Independent coil springs provide the ride front and in the rear are traditional leaf springs that all work with drum brakes on all 4 corners.

  Drive-Ability
She started right up, and on the test track had solid acceleration and bias free braking.  The steering was smooth and shifting was the same.   All other functions were working as they should save for the overdrive being non functional, otherwise I had a splendid ride around our test track simply breathing in all the wood craftsmanship.  While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

In keeping most of its original charm with under 12,000 original miles, we see an overall very good condition automobile with that fab grille!  Much of the original trimmings and steel panels have been retained and the paint is near excellent, still shiny after all those years showing just a few small battle scars.  It is time to do another bucket list thing in retirement, so advantage YOU!  Come and get it!

<description>1950 Ford Custom Deluxe 2 Door Landau Hardtop

The era of pontoon fenders and high-riding automobiles was over, and Ford broke out of the gate with a smaller, stunningly stylish car that blended militaristic themes with slab-sided functionality.  This Custom Deluxe Sedan offered for consignment is a fine cruiser that will need some TLC in the body department as it is showing some overspray areas, a few dents and some slight dulling.  A new interior is one of its assets, along with the new Ford design of a more integrated body, and rounded design.  It borders on a street rod, as it does have a bigger mill but is in need of some serious TLC on the mechanical front and some snappy interior upgrades.

NO TITLE-SOLD ON A BILL OF SALE ONLY

  Exterior
All steel with attached chrome upfront sporting a center bullet style ring and building on this design to complete the entire grille.  We see chrome in fair condition showing some dulling and may have been sprayed with silver paint up front.  The headlight bezels for the single lights on the corners of each front quarter are shiny and bright.   Rounded sleek integrated panels abound on this car and all are rust free and bathed in dark red metallic.  A side view shows off the bulbous "early aero" design, and on the back it looks like the tail end of a rocket ship with its small streaking bump outs for the oval tail lights.  A bulbous trunk pulls down to another silver sprayed rear bumper which wraps around the back of the car.  The top is a bit like non alcoholic beer as it is on a canvas covering but is actually a hard top.  It does not move up and down but gives one the appearance of a convertible top.  I'd have to ask why??? but I digress!  The top is in good condition with just a slight tear on one edge.  Thin white wall edged 205/70R15's are wrapping black painted steel wheels that sport trim rings on their edges and dog dish flat moon caps with Ford badging on their centers.  These wheels have some spotty rust on the chrome.  Glass is all clear and trimming for said glass is all good!  Meanwhile the badging and all ornamentation has been long since shaved off.

  Interior
A total redux inside here now showing off in smooth black door panels with the original cranks and actuators.  Inside, gray leather,  late model power high backed bucket seats are installed in front.  These buckets have just slight corner damage on the seats but it's minimal.  In back, an overstuffed gray leather seat is installed and looks virtually like new.  A shining example of the original metal dash with exterior matching curved design painted in a satin black, houses a large centered speedo with additional gauges within this circle.  A few billet styled toggles and switches are below this large central circle, all now fronted by a Grant GT rally steering wheel.  In the center is a more round bulbuls looking design with an upper large round clock and below a trio of aftermarket gauges with shiny bezels and white faces showing the status of the volts, oil pressure, and water temp.  Black carpet is below in good condition, and above is a charcoal gray headliner which shows on the underside of the upper canvas hard top fabric.  In the center is a fashioned from aluminum console to house the shifter.

  Drivetrain
302 cubes of Ford pushrod V8 is now residing under the hood.  It is topped by a simple 2-barrel carburetor and miniature circular open side air cleaner in chrome.  A 3-speed manual transmission is mounted to the back of the V8.  Way back sports a Ford 9 inch rear axle.

  Undercarriage
The underside has been restored to the extent where it now has new black sprayed undercoating on the framing and rockers as well as inner fenders.  The floor pans have a light coating of surface rust but remain solid.  The suspension, rear axle, fuel tank and front brakes are like new in appearance.  These are drum brakes all around, and for the front suspension we note independent coil springs, and for the back leaf springs.  Dual side exit exhaust is on with a pair of Turbo mufflers.

  Drive-Ability
This car fired right up, ran smoothly, and drove very nicely.  It is a great cruiser, with a very comfortable interior.  No power steering makes getting in and out of tight places a little strenuous, but once the car is rolling it steers surprisingly easy.  Good brakes, and functional exterior lighting was a plus. The engine has a distinct knock, so I hesitated to push it any harder than I dared.  It's very clear that some serious work is needed under the hood.

The work is all done in this car, most of it top notch, some could use improvement, but not any emergencies save for the engine knock.  It is a nice cruiser, and in the red a head turner.  I don't understand the top concept but who am I to argue with success?
