<description>There is something magnetic about a classic full-size American convertible, and this 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 delivers it in spades. With just 4,131 original miles, this low-mileage survivor looks and feels like it just rolled out of the showroom while carrying the presence and attitude of a true muscle-era icon.

The 390 V8 fires up easily, humming with that unmistakable Ford big-block growl. Paired with the smooth C6 automatic, it offers effortless cruising. Every twist of the steering wheel and stomp on the pedal delivers pure vintage American engineering, raw yet refined, powerful yet controlled.

Its Candyapple Red exterior gleams in the sunlight, showing extremely well with minor, age-appropriate imperfections that tell a story without stealing the spotlight. The interior is factory-correct red, featuring vinyl bench seats with black stripe accents, a red and black dash with wood inlay, matching red steering wheel, and red carpeting, all in excellent condition. The very clean aftermarket convertible top invites open-air drives and enhances the car's classic lines.

Built in Chicago with a 3.00:1 rear axle, this Galaxie 500 blends collector-quality originality with genuine driveability. A discreet period-style aftermarket security system is installed in the driver front quarter panel emblem, reflecting thoughtful ownership while leaving the car's character intact.

This car does not belong in a garage. It begs to be driven, to be felt, and to make an entrance wherever it goes. Owning this Galaxie 500 is owning a piece of 1960s American muscle, a convertible that combines classic style, commanding presence, and authentic driving character while still performing and feeling like it did the day it left the factory.

<description>Here is a true American classic that's been loved since the day it rolled off the assembly line. This 1966 Ford Galaxie 500XL Convertible wears a sharp white paint job that looks right at home on its long, timeless body lines. The panels are straight, the bumpers are in good shape, and the wheels and tires give the car an excellent stance. All badges are correct and properly placed, and the brightwork presents nicely, including the iconic front grille, headlights, and taillights. The white soft-top convertible matches the exterior perfectly and looks just as good up for cruising as it does retracted for open-air enjoyment.

Inside, the Emberglo-Copper interior provides a bold contrast to the white exterior. The door panels are solid, the seats look great, the carpets are clean, and the dashboard shows no obvious issues. An aftermarket steering wheel sits ahead of an aftermarket Bosch tachometer mounted on the steering column. The speedometer appears stock or stock-style and is easy to read, while an aftermarket iEquus temperature gauge is neatly mounted under the dash. The rest of the dashboard remains largely stock, including the AM/FM radio and climate controls. A center console houses the T-shifter, power controls, and additional storage.

Under the hood, the engine bay presents well with a blue-painted 390 cubic-inch V8 topped with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. Power is routed through a 3-speed automatic transmission to a stock-style Ford 9-inch rear axle. The suspension is a bit more stout than a typical Galaxie 500, with the XL featuring independent front suspension with upper and lower A-arms, coil springs, and a sway bar, while the rear uses coil springs, trailing arms, and shocks. Stopping power comes from front power disc brakes and rear power drum brakes. The Ford rides on 17-inch aftermarket wheels wrapped in 225/50R17 Falken ZIEX tires. Keeping things mostly stock are the exhaust manifolds, dual exhaust, and stock-style mufflers.
