This has the 'B' performance head reserved for police cars and special-order vehicles. The color is teal with a complimentary gold interior. Interestingly, the car came with a Henry Ford-style shifter knob. The car sat with the widow of the family for about 10 years in a climate-controlled garage until she moved and offered it for sale. In our ownership, we boiled/sealed the fuel tank, replaced all maintenance components including battery, plugs & brass wires, distributor, ignition and new fuel tank float. We serviced the brakes with new wheel bearings. The original top hardware is complete, but the soft top was long-gone. We've never seen fit to buy the inexpensive top as we've enjoyed the open-air driving in the south. As recently as November 2024 we were in the Veteran's Day Parade when an electrical short caused us to stall. Car is in line with our mechanic to replace the starter. Both the body and engine were purchased from CA about 20 years ago. Body was in overall excellent condition with only a small patch panel required on the right passenger side that was expertly repaired before the car was painted entirely top and bottom in a magnificent Washington Blue Variant that is really unique and looks great. Only a few minor imperfections as shown. Car is accented beautifully with steel wheels painted red with chrome hubs. The car has a 1941 Ford rearend requiring the Frame to be lengthened by 7 inches to accommodate. Model A crossmember and painted dropped axle. Car has NOT been Chopped or Channeled and has a great stance. Grey vinyl bench seating in very clean interior with Stewart Warner Gauges and additional switches for pump and electric fan. A 1931 model 'A' body sitting on a custom made frame. The first 39 inches of the frame accommodates the 1940 ford flat head engine and transmission. Note the unique shifter in the floor. This unique arrangement is one of a kind. The next 60 inches of the frame accommodates the model 'A' body. Study the pictures closely to get an appreciation of this unique build. The car is brand new from the tires to the top. Only 351 miles. The steel top was cut out of a Jeep Cherokee and welded in the model 'A' body. Check out the dash. The top half is model 'A' and the bottom is from a '32 Ford. In 1939 ford took the shifter out of the floor and put it on the steering column. However, ford left the shifter in the floor through 1948 in the pick up. I found a '48 truck transmission and took the gears out of my '40 box and installed them in this car which allowed me to have the shifter on the floor. Check out the details. The radiator is a special order from Walker. I called Travis Walker to get him to modify the '40 ford radiator. If you look closely you will see the filler cap assembly is from a '32' and it is mounted below the top of the radiator. This modification allowed the shell to fit smoothly across the top with no break for a filler cap. This senior owned example is in exceptional condition throughout. It is dark blue with black fenders and a grey cloth interior. 3 speed manual on the floor. Starts/runs easily. Shifts thru all detents as it should. I'd say the paint is a strong 9 out of 10 for its quality, with minor paint loss evident on the center hood hinge and a mark on the left body side close to the left door. Neither of these detract greatly from its overall presentation. These famously leak oil, but no signs of any leaks on this car. Painted Wire Wheels are nice. Tires have good tread left on them. Interior is clean and odor-free with no infamous 'mouse-hole' in the headliner they are famous for. Vinyl top is in great shape. Vinyl covered sun visor is a nice touch. This is a rust-free super solid well cared for car that will offer its owner plenty of years in care-free driving. A very simple elegant looking car that garners attention wherever it goes. This is one of several senior-owned cars for sale, so be sure to inquire. Having owned several of these, everything about this car scores highly. I'd say it's a strong #9 car out of 10. All original Henry Ford steel with the body channelled over a custom frame that is c-notched 6' in the rear. Original 1932 grille and shell that has been sectioned, filled, and peaked. Car runs a SBF based 331 stroker with Holley tri-power, Joe Hunt coil on distributor, early Cal Custom valve covers, power is transferred through a Ford C4 transmission to a Ford 8' rear end. Traditional front end with dropped axle, transverse springs and lever shocks. The original builders friend worked at a chrome shop, so all suspension and axles are nickel plated chrome. Below is a link to an article and video when the car won the Lokar Driven Award at the Detroit Autorama in 2018. The only difference is the car now runs a Holley tri-power. After Autorama and subsequent media coverage, the original builder, after losing contact with the car, contacted me, we had a long talk and it was as if he was standing next to the car, according to him, the only parts bought new at the time were the headlight stantions, everything else is custom.
