      <title>2004 Mercedes-Benz SL500</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/mercedes-benz/sl500/2004/listing/237128</link>
      <description>2004 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Roadster

For consignment, a 2004 Mercedes-Benz SL500 roadster with a title verified 34,182 actual miles. This is a one owner car with recent A/C service and a new main battery.

  Exterior
Deep black paint covers the exterior and some would argue it's the best color for the car, but that's subjective, of course. What's not up for debate is the attractive wedge like shape of the car, from the streamlined front fascia, long ascending hood, rounded retractable hardtop, and the rounded rear end and short decklid. 18-inch wheels fill the openings in profile and a side vent trimmed in parallel spears completes the sporty look. These spears repeat in triplet on the hood vents near the cowl and this feature removes any notion that this is your average commuter car. In general, the car presents cleanly. Imperfections include various scratches, watermarks, fading of the black trim on the rear window, a series of scratches on the deck under the third brake light, chips, a scuff on bumper corners and lower panel, scuffs on the broken front apron, and curb rash.

  Interior
An attractive array of light gray plastic, medium gray leather, and honey colored burlwood adorn both doors with Mercedes style and panache. These are the kind of doors you wouldn't mind looking at every day, they're that good. Nicely designed perforated leather bucket seats await driver and passenger and our driver's seat shows some wear on the ingress point and soiling on the lower, while the passenger seat remains nice. Leather covers the storage compartments and shelf in the back with a small tear noted along with some peeling of the leather clad trim cowl. The steering wheel is just the right girth and frames the flaring twin gauge pod perfectly with a clear view of the attractive configuration. In center, vents and vent controls, a wood framed screen with AM/FM/CD over climate knobs, flowing down to the center console housing more switchgear and of course, the nicely shaped shifter. Low pile gray carpet covers the floor and is protected by Mercedes carpeted mats which have taken the brunt of use. The trunk is completely finished in plush gray carpet, creating a virtual cocoon for your luggage.

  Drivetrain
A large shroud cleanly covers the 5.0 liter SOHC V8, pumping out 302 horsepower and mated to an MB 7G-tronic 7-speed automatic transmission routing power to the rear axle, in true sports car fashion, and 2.82 gears.

  Undercarriage
Generally clean conditions are found underneath with no rust nor errant fluids present. Four wheel power disc brakes are employed and Macpherson struts are found front and rear. The dual exhaust still runs through original equipment mufflers and exits through oval tips out back.

  Drive-Ability
The car is not only comfortable, but delivers satisfying power and great throttle response, applicable to light to light sprints and high speed highway travel. The only thing that feels dated in this car is the digital font used on the electronic readouts and elements of the screen, but beyond that, it feels on par, in many ways, with 2025 models. We note here that the top is not working and it could be a bad battery which is dedicated to the top function. There's also a check engine light coding for crankshaft position sensor A circuit. Beyond these, all functions operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

It doesn't get much better than being behind the wheel of a personal luxury sports car and the Benz SL series has been doing it for a long time. Twenty four years old and this car feels and looks relevant and modern, no one will accuse you of driving an out of date old car. These are solid built and personify driving excitement which you'll experience after that pleasing thud of the door closing behind you.

      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/mercedes-benz/sl500/2004/listing/235119</link>
      <description>2004 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Roadster

For consignment, a 2004 Mercedes Benz SL500 roadster with a title verified 114,421 miles. Talk about bells and whistles! This was the epitome of luxury sports driving 20 years ago and still provides an exhilarating experience. Don't let those miles chase you off. We've represented other SL's at the mall that were well into triple digits, often approaching 200,000 miles, with plenty of miles ahead of them!

  Exterior
Curves abound on this Brilliant Silver Metallic, veering from the angular disposition of previous generation SL's, and even the rocker panel has wind defying curvature. The sharp nose is first to cut through the air and the cross bars of the flush grille create a staircase through which air flows. Aggressive intakes on the cowl are matched by the beautifully designed fender vents while the rounded retractable hardtop sends air asunder and back to the modest spoiler. That spoiler hovers over flush tail lights and a clean, streamline rear fascia that includes exhaust split wide and fitting the space provided by the valance. 18-inch wheels carry 40 series tires and a few of them show some curb rash. The good news is that other than that and some discoloration of the rear spoiler, no other imperfections were found on the exterior.

  Interior
Mercedes does great interiors and this one is a testament to the attention to detail and quality of materials. The taut materials on the door panels, for example, a flowing arrangement of plastics, leather, wood, has held up very well over the past 20 years of usage and the same could be said about the black leather bucket seats which are fitted onto the floor via an integrated base with substantial padding. Slight patina presents on the steering wheels along with wood trim and robust thumb buttons. It fronts a deeply browed gauge cluster with side units complete the central control panel. From there, the center stack takes over with attractive wood framing and a screen that is flanked by a myriad of switches, topped by the CD slot that accompanies the AM/FM radio. The center console is a continuation of the ornamental wood and houses the shifter, all over gray carpet with fitted mats and carpet is also used for the trunk and presents nicely.

  Drive-train
A nicely detailed engine bay houses the shrouded 5.0 liter SOHC V8, good for 302 horsepower and carrying the revolutionary MB 7G-tronic 7-speed automatic transmission. Power is routed sports car style to the rear axle where it finds 2.82 gears.

  Undercarriage
Heat shields abound underneath and provide a buffer from the dual exhaust that runs down the center tunnel, through original equipment mufflers, and out the back through chrome tips. Four wheel power disc brakes are on board for this high end cruiser and suspension is independent front and rear with Macpherson struts all the way around. Clean and dry conditions prevail underneath and belly pans are fully intact.

  Drive-Ability
Low, comfortable, balanced, and robust, just some of the words that come to mind as we take this roadster around the loop. Plenty of power underfoot, great visibility, and wonderful handling is provided by this Benz, and other than an illuminated battery light, all functions operate as they should and we're confident to put this one under the lights, ready for shoppers near and far. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

Twenty one years old and looking fresh in design. Sure, technology has improved exponentially over the years, but this more analog version of a luxury sports car provides all the right ingredients for a spirited weekend ride, comfortable daily driver, or top down beach town cruiser. SL stands for Sports Light, (Leicht), but this roadster is grounded, powerful, and heavy on attractive features!

      <title>1998 Mercedes-Benz SL500</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/mercedes-benz/sl500/1998/listing/230109</link>
      <description>1998 Mercedes Benz SL500 Roadster

For consignment, a 1998 Mercedes Benz SL500 roadster with a title verified 132,767 actual miles. Frequent oil changes and numerous repairs have been relayed by the consignor and this well sorted personal luxury sports roadster is ready to provide years of a more high end driving experience to its next steward.

  Exterior
Enveloped in two stage White, the exterior of this presents cleanly and includes the optional hardtop, which is electronically released and relocked on with the touch of a button. Upon its removal, you have the black canvas top with three plastic windows that remain sight unseen when folded electronically behind the driver and passenger. Integrated body matching white bumpers, aero inserted and smoothed headlights, a swept back front glass, ribbed tail lights, and we have a sports car with fantastic lines, maintaining its luxury class status. Mercedes 5 spoke AMG 18-inch alloy wheels are on all 4 corners with staggered ZR rated tires that have a mid 2019 date code. Imperfections include numerous chin scrapes and chipping paint, and some curb rash on the wheels.

  Interior
Tan leather and MB Tex, with plush padding and stitching allow the driver and passenger an almost endless array of recline, height, temperature and stiffness options at the touch of a series of buttons on the door which shows some patina in that area and on the handle. These buckets have some cracking in the bolsters in their front sections but are in otherwise good condition. There is a storage area behind the two bucket seats, as well as a wonderfully fully lined trunk in light tan velour. Doors are lined with a tasteful mixture of light tan leather, molded vinyl, and highly lacquered burl. This burl can also be seen in the center console housing the AM/FM radio, window controls, top actuator as well as the shifter. The dash is a beautiful complimentary tan and brown leather and molded vinyl and analog gauges keep you informed of all major functions. A leather wrapped sport steering wheel can be adjusted to ergonomic alignment for the driver, no matter what size they are. Manually moving the shifter or simple automatic shift modes can be chosen at the driver's will and a standard and winter/wet shifting mode can be had with the flip of a toggle. Tan carpeting is fairly clean and has protective tan rubber mats on top.

  Drivetrain
A 5.0 liter V8 drinks from an electronically controlled fuel injection system and enjoys a 315 horsepower rating. Behind it, a 5-speed Daimler Benz 5G Tronic automatic transmission sends power to the rear axle with 2.56 gears while 4 wheel power disc brakes are on board to help slow this luxury cruiser down. The clean bay shows some usage but a large plastic shroud keeps things looking tidy and clean.

  Undercarriage
For the mileage, the underside is remarkably clean with some typical soot, minimal surface rust, and some residual oil on the pan. Dual exhaust flows through stock style mufflers before exiting through twin tailpipes. Independent coil spring suspension is equipped front and back.

  Drive-Ability
Comfortable and capable is the immediate feeling relayed by the quality of materials and ergonomics. The 5 liter is a quick starter and provides very good power while the low profile tires grip curves with confidence and the brakes answer the call to action. We note the driver's power tilt adjustment to the seat is not working, but all other functions operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

A fine example from 1998 Mercedes Benz engineering that has remained timeless. Plenty of options, and conveniences adorn this car, and the color combination with the contrast of the exterior white, and the wonderful mixture of materials all in the light tan/light brown color way for the interior. Motor mounts, belts, tie rods, and headliner are all relatively new. Sport luxury can be yours right here at the Classic Auto Mall and you can keep up with the Jones' without breaking the bank!

      <title>2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500</title>
      <link>https://www.hotrodhotline.com/forsale/vehicles/mercedes-benz/sl500/2005/listing/229433</link>
      <description>2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Roadster

For consignment, a 2005 Mercedes Benz SL500 roadster with a title verified 58,258 actual miles, with a long list of newer items including the expensive auto top motor and hydraulic shocks. This is a sleek, stylish roadster that looks as fresh and relevant 20 years post production as it did in '05.

  Exterior
TiefSchwarz translates to deep black, and that's how Mercedes refers to the paint here. The rich monochromatic coverage is in fine shape and arguably one of the best colors for this model. Looking closely, we think a skilled detailer could easily squeeze another 20 fathoms of depth from this paint, which would knock it off the charts in gloss factor. LED lights now call the nose home and it all cants rearward to slice through the air while the raked windshield is tilted to a hyper car-like angle at the end of a long hood creating a dramatic profile with the retractable hardtop in the stowed position. The black three pointed star on the front is surrounded by a grille full of silver polygons while the fender vents are accented with twin chrome blades, all complemented by the 18-inch AMG replica wheels, the rears carrying new tires from early 2024. The original wheels will accompany the car. There are chin scrapes, scuffs, rock chips, and a tow hook cover is attached with duct tape. We also note some curb rash on a wheel.

  Interior
Simulated burl wood accents the smartly designed black door panels with texture plastic and gray contrasting panels, all in nice shape. Up front, robust leather bucket seats promise both comfort and support and both have a multitude of electric adjustments found in a panel on the base. The driver's seat has some signs of use but both are in fine condition. In back, a storage shelf is also the cover of a bin, surrounded by a retractable roll bar. Symmetry is the name of the game up front where oval thumb buttons match on each side of the steering wheel and twin circle gauges are flanked by kidney shaped units with pleasant white lettering and blue tinged lighting. An upgraded radio includes screen display, rear camera, AM/FM/CD, and CarPlay capabilities, all over a burl wood panel housing a perfectly symmetrical A/C panel. This wood seamlessly cascades to the center console where quality materials prevail in the shifter and surrounding switchgear. Plush gray carpet is underfoot with new mats protecting it, while the same quality carpet continues to the trunk where it fully lines the compartment.

  Drivetrain
Under the hood, a clean and venerable 5.0 liter SOHC V8, fuel injected and rated at 302 horsepower, mostly covered with a handsome cap. It's married to an MB 7G-Tronic 7-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear axle with 2.82 final drive ratio. Power disc brakes are found at all four wheels.

  Undercarriage
Clean conditions are found underneath where aerodynamic panels and textured heat shields occupy a good bit of the real estate here. Dual exhaust run in tandem, meet at a collector, then through original equipment mufflers before exiting via oval tips that are flush with the rear valance. Four new hydraulic shock absorbers complement the independent suspension on both the front and rear.

  Drive-Ability
What's not to love here? A modern Mercedes roadster with lots of power and old enough to not be overwrought with endless sensors and features. Just you, the car, and the road, or in our case, the test loop, where the Benz moved out well, handled like a go kart, and stopped on a dime. We're happy to report that every function on board operated as intended and it was time to steer this stealth fighter back to the bat cave. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase.

New vacuum door lock actuators, batteries, and a recent tune up mean all you need to do is sign on the dotted line and drive this stylish German roadster home! <title>1995 Mercedes-Benz SL500</title>

      <description>1995 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Roadster

The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is a grand touring car manufactured by Mercedes Benz since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German Sportlich-Leicht, which translates to lightweight sport. With unlimited speed limits prevalent in Europe, individuals who owned such cars could quickly travel from point A to point B. This is the true definition of grand touring, meaning traveling in luxury and style at high speed.

For consignment, this nice condition and very sporty SL500 roadster right out of 1995. With a rebuilt and electrically operated convertible top assembly this gives the owner 2 different cars to choose from. All full of options, including alloy wheels, new paint, and conveniences, all wrapped in eye-catching red.

  Exterior
Enveloped in a respray of the factory Imperial Red, the exterior of this car looks very nice but is not without a few flaws in the clearcoat, some scuffs on the lower front fascia, and some chips in the finish. A touch of a button and you have the black canvas convertible which remains sight unseen when folded electronically behind the driver and passenger. This top presents as well worn with a few areas of staining and soiling as well as rub through in the canvas and a heavily clouded and torn plastic rear window set. Integrated body matching Imperial Red bumpers, aero inserted and smoothed headlights, a swept back front glass, ribbed tail lights, and we have a sports car in sheep's clothing. Mercedes drilled 16-inch alloy wheels are on all 4 corners shod in deeply treaded black walls and the exterior package is completed with simply stated elegance.

  Interior
Tan leather and MB Tex, with plush padding and stitching, allows the driver and passenger an almost endless array of recline, height, memory setting, and stiffness options at the touch of a series of buttons on the door. These buckets have some cracking and tearing in the bolsters and in their front sections. There is a storage area behind the two bucket seats, as well as a fully lined trunk in slightly soiled light tan velour. The doors are lined with a tasteful mixture of light tan leather, molded vinyl, and highly lacquered burl. These doors present some age appropriate wear and soiling and we note the driver's armrest has come loose from its mount. This burl can also be seen in the center console housing the factory Mercedes AM/FM/Cassette player with trunk mounted CD changer, window controls, top actuator as well as the shifter. The dash is a beautiful complimentary tan and brown leather and molded vinyl. Analog gauges keep you informed of all major functions. A leather wrapped sport steering wheel can be adjusted to ergonomic alignment for the driver, no matter what size they are. Manually moving the shifter or simple automatic shift modes can be chosen at the driver's will and a standard and winter/wet driving mode can be had with the flip of a toggle. Tan carpeting covers the floors and is fairly clean while having protective tan carpeted mats on top.

  Drivetrain
A 5.0 liter V8 drinks from an electronically controlled fuel injection system. The smooth as silk 4-speed automatic transmission can whisk you efficiently, or sporty down the highway and a 2.65 geared limited slip axle keeps you moving.

  Undercarriage
Independent front and rear suspension provide a ride that fools you into exactly how fast or slow you are really traveling. 4-wheel power disc brakes stop this luxury sports car on a dime. A peppering of surface rust is seen on some bolts here and there, but overall clean rust-free stamped metal ground effects panels abound along with lightweight cast aluminum throughout.

  Drive-Ability
Nice sounds not only from the engine compartment but also from the stereo system. However, I chose to listen to the engine which performed beautifully with lots of unlimited acceleration, bias free panic stopping, and handling like a sporty sedan should. Even with stale fuel in the tank the car ran well and all else worked fine for the test drive.

A fine example from 1995 Mercedes Benz engineering that has remained timeless. Plenty of options and conveniences adorn this car, and the color combination with the contrast of the exterior red and the wonderful mixture of materials all in the light tan/light brown color way for the interior. Sport luxury can be yours right here at the Classic Auto Mall
